Arrow water is the answer

hey guys,

of course, water is the answer to any healthy living - It's life itself

I start my day with a 300 ml glass of water (room temperature) which stands on my nightstand.

Throughout the day I keep a constant intake of the same amount.

Especially after I've eaten (snacks, meals) I like to drink water as I can feel it helps digestion.

I developed or better said I got more and more aware of the body's cry for water throughout the day.

Water is so critical for the cells to dump their waste products and keep their turgor (distension of cells) constant.

I recommend to drink between 3 to 4 liters every day and more than ever while you are on a diet it while it helps to cleanse your system and certainly can make you feel full for a while

I thought that drinking loads of water did make you lose more weight. nd it does from what you're saying.. but when i got weighed the pharmacist said that 4-5litres was too much nd that it would take me out of ketosis.. I only lost 4 pounds that week and i was drinking 4-5 litres a day.. so now i'm only drinking 2-3.. which one should i go for??

Diet: SlimFast
Exclamation Surely it's not healthy??

Given all the reports in the papers lately, should we be aiming to drink quite so much water each day. On average we lose 1L via urine, 500ml from sweat and 500ml from our breath. Any more consumption than that is in excess of what we need. Excessive amounts ie 4L can cause real medical problems. Cells in your brain will swell, due to osmosis, which will cause massive problems for the body. It isn't just me saying this, ask anyone who is qualified in this subject. It would appear there is so much pseudo quackery medical advice out there, that people are putting themselves in danger. Wise up, please do some research, if you can find some peer reviewed medical research that says there are health benefits to drinking high levels of water I would be very interested to be directed to them. Until then I think it is foolish to egg people on to drink quite so much water.

MaryA posted this message she recieved this email from Cambridge Diet Head Office.
I asked my CDC to send the following question to Cambridge on my behalf. Underneath is their reply.

Question:- "I am aware CD recommend a minimum of 4 pints of water per day. I see on various forums many CDCs advocating 4 - 6 litres or more per day. Do Cambridge endorse this? As CDCs are actively suggesting this quantity, saying "The more you drink the more you shrink" is there any scientific proof that this is beneficial?"

Reply:-
"As far as the water is concerned, we have no connection with that
phrase, as I am sure you are aware, the forum chat is not endorsed by
the company.
We recommend a minimum of two and a half litres daily, when using any
programme, particularly sole source.
However, once established on the diet, it is perfectly acceptable to
consume three to four litres daily.
Some people, particularly those who were drinking large amounts before
dieting, can drink more than that without any problems.
Everyone's requirement is different.
The thing to remember is to drink the water regularly throughout the
day.
It is not a good idea to go for long periods of the day without
drinking, and then consume large amounts"
I hope that clears it up how much water is recommended on a food replacement diet.

Anyone who is has concerns please contact their own CDC or Doctor for advice or contant Cambridge Diet. http://www.cambridge-diet.com/

it says on average you loose only 1 litre peeing. (excuse my crudeness) but if you drink in excess of that the logic would be you'd have to pee more, the body generally won't let itself drown.
I don't know about this this is just a guess from what i notice in compareson to how much i drink to how much i need the loo.

Quote:
Water intoxication is a condition where the body’s level of sodium has been rapidly diluted with too much water. It is also known as hyponatremia or hyperhydration. Sodium is an important electrolyte that helps regulates the body’s fluids. When the body’s sodium level is changed rapidly by drinking a lot of water, the extra water then causes the cells in the body to swell and malfunction. The cells in the nervous system are particularly sensitive and can lead to symptoms that can mimic alcohol intoxication. Hence the name water intoxication. Source:
Hyponatermia - Water Intoxication

A reduced calorie intake like we have on the Cambridge Diet brings about a natural water-loss effect, which can also occur with diuretics.

So the more water you drink the more you will pee out.

If you have concerns about how much water you should drink while doing CD, your first port of call should be to your own CDC.

Diet: Open to any!
I'm dreadful when it comes to drinking, i can literally last for a week on a glass a day! I just don't ever feel thirsty unless i've been exercising.

So i'm gonna aim for 1.5 litres per day this week and then bump it up!

I was also under the impression that the above was true. I think you should drink water till your regularly going to the loo and your urine is clear, then you need to stop. Normally about 2lts will achieve this.

Too much will 'flood the brain' in effect (dont take that literally) and do more harm than good.
