    Eating 1000 calories a day...?

I'm about 5'6 and 95kg, (I know I'm a fatty!). So I'm looking to hopefully lose about 25-30kg by July, desperately want a beach bod for my summer hols! Is this possible if I stick to a diet of around 1000-1200 calories a day and running 15km a day? I don't want people to give me answers like 'you won't survive' I've been eating around 1200 calories before dieting just never exercised properly! Other answers much appreciated :-) thanks!

You'd be best posting in the low calorie section as this is just for VLCDs which are all meal replacement programmes under 800cals. It also wouldn't be advisable to have so few cals if you are exercising that much as your body won't have enough fuel to survive, never mind lose weight! Just my opinion. Hope you find something that works for you x

I would advise not to run every day, it does more harm than good to not have rest days, ive got a family full of marathon runners who will say the same.
If you really want to dodge the calories, eat less on non exercise days

    Mini Goals:
    *Get back in the zone!
    I think I'm there
    *Get back under 12 stone
*Get under 11 stone by June
*Get under 10 stone before holiday in August and stay there!
*Defeat the demon that made me fat, forever!

But this forum is for VLCDs so 1000 a day is high - VLCDs are 800 calories a day max. Having spent 11 months on a VLCD before I reached goal I have to say that I never felt healthier than when on the diet. Often people judge VLCDs without having tried it themselves or without understanding the process of ketosis.
Reached goal of 130 lbs to lose.

On maintenance I'm a little higher than I would like to be...

heya, hows it going? I agree with your last post; ive done vlcds too. there is a lot of info about ketosis and exercise, especially cardio while in ketosis -really not safe it can weaken your heart. I think an alternate day type diet would be great, you can maximize your exercise on days when eating more (carbs?!) then have low calorie/fast & rest days. have a ponder over the JUDDD section if you're unfamiliar with the alternate fasting day type diets.

I've done vlcd in the past and guess what the weight never stayed off.. Doing sw and eating all the right foods and not being hungry I found much better results.. And I had more energy for the gym (before I was preggo). You don't wanna under eat too much as ur body will store why u eat as fat. As for exercise its essential to have breaks as ur muscles need time to repair. Good luck x

If you lost weight on a vlcd and it didn't stay off that's not the fault of the diet though

If people don't continue to stick with some form of weight maintenance plan (I do not mean a life of VLCD either) then the weight will go back on regardless of what diet they did.

Each to their own but it seems some people (I'm referring to zkharmaz in particular) are trying their hardest to put down and put off people from doing a VLCD. This part of the forum is dedicated to VLCD's, I doubt these posts will put everyone off but feel free to continue trying. I don't see why people who are against certain diets spend most of their time in parts of the forum dedicated to the diets they are against.

Well I lost 9 stone on a VLCD (reached goal last June) and am maintaining at about a stone more than when I reached goal - and have been at this level since September. I'm very careful with what I eat and I exercise vigorously regularly. I don't see why people blame the diet if they fail to maintain. Maintenance is hard no matter what diet you do - but it isn't the fault of the diet.
Reached goal of 130 lbs to lose.

On maintenance I'm a little higher than I would like to be...
