Advice needed..

Hi,

I've been stuck in a diet rut for some time now...with all new diets being advertised and thrown at you, it's no wonder I get confused. I'll start the week on Slimming World, by Wednesday I'll be on Dukan the come Friday I'll have packed it all in and be eating my (ever increasing) weight in sweet and sour chicken balls!!!
i need help and support from real people also trying to beat the bulge!

So..here's my real question. My Cambridge Consultant has stopped her drop in centre near me. I tried Cambridge a few months back but wasn't dedicated at the time but am not getting on it properly!! I just wanted some thoughts really, do you think I could do 2 Slim Fast shakes instead if the Cambridge ones and then have the 'Soul Source Plus' meal for dinner that they have on Cambridge.

Any thoughts or advice would be really appreciated!!

Thanks xx

Are slim fast meal replacement? Why not do an alternative to Cambridge like Exante, SML or Slim and Save?

Yes slimfast isn't a meal replacement, so doesn't have all the nutrients that you need. even having a cambridge meal with it, wouldn't i think, give all the nutrition you need.

I have been on exante and have lost 5 stone, it is a good plan, as is shake that weight, slim and save and sml. you can buy these on the internet, so that you don't need to have a consultant. also they are a lot cheaper than CD as well. i pay just over 100 pounds for a month supply, also they have special offers on at the moment. hope that helps?

No you cant do what youre suggesting. You wont be in ketosis so youll be constantly hungry. You wont get the nutrients you need so you could make yourself ill. Either do a vlcd or sf you cant mix n match

Just to play devils advocate here isn't slim fast advertised like that tho - a shake for breakfast, one for lunch and a proper dinner? Which is only what the op has said she wants to do-yes I agree it's not a vlcd but even so?? Thoughts? ?

Sent from my Galaxy S4

Shes talking about a SS meal tho That's not what SF suggest. Their meals are much higher in calories and youre meant to have snacks.

SF is designed to have 3 snacks a day (total of 300kcals) and a 600 kcal meal and 2 shakes. So 2 shakes and a ss meal is nowhere close

So what shes suggesting us neither one or other

I don't understand why people can't just do diets the way theyre meant

I started on Cambridge before my wedding last year and lasted all of about 2 weeks! The second time around I tried a different consulant and did very well. I have spent a lot of time on different diets and I do think that finding the right thing for you is key. Any diet that gave me freedom to make my own meals I would fail at as my self constraint was just non-existant, "a little bit of cheese on my food won't be THAT bad", "an extra 20g of pasta, that's not going to hurt REALLY" etc.

Currently, I am 6 months into my Cambridge plan and to save a bit of money I am switching to 2 Cambridge products and 1 Slim & Save (as it's half the price). I do really think the right consultant, one who is supportive is key! I don't know if I could have stuck to it just going straight in with Slim & Save but that's me personally.
