What is classed as strenuous exercise?

Hi all,

I am currently on Day 4 of the Exante Total Solution diet. It advises 20 mins of exercise daily but also states that strenuous exersice can result is slower weight loss. How strenuous does it have to be? If I am burning between 400 - 500 cal on a run will this slow weight loss? Should I cut down on Exersice? or add extra Cal?

Any advice welcome.

Thanks in advance Chris.

To be honest, it depends on the individual. I think it depends on what your baseline level of exercise is prior to beginning the diet, as to how well you can tolerate exercise while on the diet. (If I went out and ran for a bus, that could be considered strenuous.)

However if you are taking in 600 calories on exante, and burning 400-500 of that on a run (rather than on basic metabolic functions), one might be somewhat more concerned more concerned about keeling over, than slowing weight loss. A VLCD is pretty extreme on it's own, remember, without throwing in additional factors.

The advice I've read in the past is to start slowly and see how you feel, and I've read in s study that exercise 4 times a week while on a VLCD is optimum. Go careful, and see how you feel.

Thank you, so far I have done

Day 1 - No Exercise
Day 2 - 3.8km run in 26 min calculated Cal burn of 414
Day 3 - 4km run in 23.5 min calculated Cal burn of 439
Day 4 - 2.8km run in 18 min calculated Cal burn of 323

Feeling ok at the moment so will just be careful.

Before Christmas i was running an average of 6 km 3 times a week.

Thanks for the advice.

Well done. I used to find Exante + a Rock'n'Roll jive class = swimmy head and a good sit down...

;)

Actually I envy people who can run. It's one of my ambitions for the summer. :)

Just as an update.

I am now day 18 on exante TS I have been running on average 6K 3 times a week burning anywere between 500 - 750 Cal per run. I have yet to feel light headed.

If you enjoy exercise give it a go.
