Thumbs up Drink the water with a straw!

    Hi there,

I am new to MiniMins and started CD 7 days ago. So far so good. Maybe I am bloated on enthusiasm.

I have been managing to drink 6 L of water a day, using a straw.

I always seemed to drain cocktails in seconds using a straw so decided to drink my water the same way. I fill a litre bottle six times a day:

    On waking
    Breakfast
    Mid-morning
    Lunch
Mid-afternoon / when I get home from work
    Supper

I exclude coffe / tea from this count.

So I never have to really have a mouth full of water to choke down, just pop the straw in and the water just drains away.

    To Sarette:

If only they were cocktails. Well it's motivating to dream of enjoying such things without shame at my size.

I see you started on the same day as I did. I hope we'll both be around beyond goal and into blissful maintenance.

Hey hun, I saw your thread earlier and as have been struggling to get the water down me I decided to give it a go (yes, i just happened to have a whole packet of straws in my cupboard- for cocktails too believe it or not!)..... my verdict= BRILLIANT!!!

In half an hour I have gone through 2 pints, which normally would take me 2 hours! I put a little water flavouring in the 2nd pint and it was like being a kid again xxx

    Hi Turquoise

I have just read your post and although I don't mind the water - drinking it with a straw does make it better and you still consume the same amount.

    Thanks for the tip.

    Hi ladies,

I'm glad it isn't just me then who feels like a kid when doing it. I think I am a bit too obviously childlike sometimes. After all that drinking, we just have to remember not to burp like one too.

Hehe no hun you are not alone! Daisydee- I actually find I can drink more through a straw- the science bit is that you take in less oxygen so you can therefore drink faster as your body does not have to cope with air going into the stomach as it does when you sip! xx

    Hi all,
I use the bottles of evian with the sports nozzle. Its 3/4 of a litre so i just keep refilling. Maybe it's the same principle as straws, in that you take in less air. Anyway works for me. I do drink my shake with a straw though and for some reason this makes it taste better !!!!
