Walking off 5kg

Good luck with walking, i think it's a great form of exercise and it's free!
You can get really good apps for your phone which tell you how far, fast etc you've gone.
Also take a look at the website Living Streets.

The phone is great motivation, I had a debate on the house phone whilst toning and managed to do an hour without even realising :)

Do you walk a certain route or mix it up a bit?

I didn't update in a while. I lost a bit more weight even though exercise went for a toss. I've been eating sensibly, I lost some weight even though I attended a binge dinner party and had an ice cream once. I am a bit convinced that my scale is wrong. It's a new one, I had a scale but bought a new one just because I was convinced the old one was wrong. I am beginning to have some kind of mental problems when it comes to weighing and scales...

As per my original plan, I planned to start running once I reach 65kg. So I do my first run today!

I'm very into walking. Do you just walk each day or do you do hiking/rambling as well?

C25K is supposed to be good to get running, there are lots of versions you can find on the net. I tried it but hated running! Sticking with walking, just adding more hills for fat burn :)

Hey Bluedrop, great job loosing the weight so far.

With motivation, for me it's being able to fit perfectly in to size 10 jeans. Do you have any tight clothes that you can use as motivation to get into? x

Unbelievable! That "one day" , "one more day" "will walk tomorrow" s all didnt help! I didn't exercise for about 5 months!!!

My food habits back to crap. Result = I'm at 146.6 now. I feel bulkier heavier and horrible. My boobs feel much heavier...I feel bloated :(

Started walking today again,...I hope I can keep this up!

Today: 1.9 miles in about 34 mins... Managed to eat sane till dinner time....binge ate for dinner - not good! Will stop eating in front of TV from tomorrow !!!

Hey Bluedrop, just read through your diary and then noticed the gap between your last post!
Have you thought about trying a food plan? I really recommend slimming world, it is so easy to follow once you get your head around things and they really encourage treats to stop binges happening. I found whenever I just tried to 'eat healthy' it went out the window whenever someone came over and fancied a take away. With slimming world I am so excited by the weight loss I'm seeing that I am forced to be good! It is so easy to be good though as you can have almost anything withing reasonable portions- you always eat until you are full and there are 3 different plans so if you crave cheesy pasta you can do a green day, if you want spag bol you do an extra easy day, if you want loads of meat you do extra easy or a red day. It is confusing at first but so easy once you get your head around things! Doesnt feel like a diet at all, feels like a way of life and I feel like I have learnt a lot about food. Give it a go and I'm sure you'll see the weight drop off! I've lost 2 stone in essentially a couple of months!

Anyway- a lot of people find going to the group really keeps them on track. I personally prefer to do it from home. Have a look at the sorts of foods you can have, it.is a huge variety of carbs and meats etc and it works! If you want a treat you have 15 'syns' to use. If you fancy a big bowl of coco pops it is 8 syns for a double portion- so you could have it daily and lose weight! X

Exercise wise have you thought about the running again? I run regularly and love it, find it invigorating which motivates me, I also enjoy Insanity (very hardcore though) and anything by the wonderful Jillian Michaels (eg '30 day shred' and 'Ripped in 30', both short, intense and effective workouts, amongst many other she does) as well as more specific HIIT which you might like too. Weight training is fantastic for fat loss too, though no replacement for diet I'm afraid.
