Me, Myself and Dukan

Dear Diary (ahem),

So today is day one on Dukan and I'm starting this diary to keep track not only of what I eat but what I'm feeling too.

I'm a 32 year old Londoner, 5"6 and currently weigh 14 stone which horrifies me. I would like to lose 3.5 stone taking me to 10 1/2 stone. This will get me into a healthy BMI and from here I can asses whether I want to lose another stone - last time I was under 10 stone I was aged 20 so I'm not 100% sure what will work best for me now.

I picked Dukan for a few reasons but mainly because it is restrictive. Picking a diet because it's restrictive might seem odd but I'm a bit of an all or nothin' kinda gal. Give me a pack of biscuits and I can't just have one or two, I keep going until I've inhaled the entire packet lol! So rather than putting myself under the pressure of having a really varied food list to pick from, I'd rather have a smaller but tasty list of which I can (within reason) have as much of as I want.

I also know from having done Atkins successfully in Uni that I personally feel less hungry on a high protein diet than an unrestricted one like WW. I'm quite active and love pilates and yoga which I do at least 3 times a week so I think I'll have enough energy to continue this on Dukan.

I struggle to communicate to my friends/family just how much my weight bothers me. When I do try to talk about it I usually get a surprised or confused reaction. You see I'm absolutely amazeballs at putting on a front; smiling and appearing happy and confident like I have no worries in the world. Ironic eh.
I'm hoping that this online community will give me what I need to get through this; friendship, advice and support, and I hope I can return some of that back, especially for the other newbies out there :)

So Day 1:

Start Weight 14st0lb
Goal Weight 10st7lb
Body Fat: 40.0%


Breakfast:
2 boiled eggs
Entire pot of decaf Earl Grey tea, black

Exercise:
1 hr Pilates

Lunch:
2 skinless Roast Chicken breasts from Tesco
Entire pot of decaf Earl Grey tea, black

Day 2.

Slept well last night and woke up bright & early.Went to my favourite cafe for scrambled eggs with smoked salmon (who said dieting was hard!) and a big pot of tea (black). Then headed off for an hour long pilates class. My butt hurts and I'm feeling good lol! ;D

Have decided to track my body fat and muscle percentages instead of stepping on the scale every day (which tends to just mess with my head). I got a Groupon for a handheld monitor and as of this morning my:

Body fat 40.0% (horrifying I know :(
Muscle 56.5%

Will be nice to see that body fat slip into the 30's and hopefully the scale next Monday will also have slipped down a bit!
