I need to lose 86lbs, and I'm going to do it!!

(this diary was in Maintenance due to my error, so I have moved here)

Hi! I'm newbie I started the Ultra Slim diet shakes on Tuesday so I thought I'd join a weight-loss forum aswell, just to keep my mind occupied and make sure I stay on track.

On Tuesday I weighed 15st6lbs (how that happened I do not know.. oh yeah, I forgot.. very recent pregnancy and my LOVE of take-aways). Yesterday I was a bit naughty and weighed myself expecting to see that I have lost no weight yet and, to my surprise, I have lost 4lbs!! That is just the push I need to carry on.

Anyway, I'm going to be listing everything that I have eaten every few days (we'll see how long that lasts shall we?) and any other crap I feel like babbling on about. I'd love to read what anyone has to say, whether it'd be about what you have eaten today, the temptation of junk food, how much you have lost.. you get my point. So come have a laugh, I can be funny when I want to be and now I have put all this I bet nobody is going to chat, so I'll look an idiot

    Food so far..

    TUESDAY

    Breakfast - Shake
Lunch - Chicken, Jacket Potato and Salad.
    Dinner - Shake
Snacks - Choc Biscuit (woops), Cashews (woops)

    WEDNESDAY

    Breakfast - Shake
    Lunch - Shake
    Dinner - Lasagne
    Snacks - Veg Pasta

    THURSDAY

    Breakfast - Shake
    Lunch - Shepherd's Pie
    Dinner - Shake
    Snacks - Veg Pasta

    FRIDAY.. to come soon!

I'm back again! Just got the baby off to sleep so thought I'd update.

Even though I have already lost 4lbs in 3 days, I keep being very hard on myself and I have no idea why. Everything that I eat, even if it is low calorie, I think to myself 'this could be the one snack that stops you from getting that bit closer to losing an extra lb. Also, when I need a snack and I'm round my partners parents house (i'm there a lot) I'll snack on stuff that isn't 'great'.. not too bad, but could be a lot healthier. So, my course of action is to take healthy snacky stuff from my house and put in my bag so if I do pop round someone's and I'm feeling peckish, I can just reach into my bag and there you go. Oh, and I'm already getting in the habit of weighing myself too much, and it bit me on the arse tonight as I weighed myself and apparently I have put on half a lb.

My proper weigh-in day is Tuesday. Next Tuesday is a new week for me, and I have set myself some rules..

    1. I AM NOT TO JUMP ON THE SCALES EVERY BLOODY DAY!! Mid-week = acceptable, that's it.
    2. Take snacks with me everywhere I go. Yes, that sounds obvious, but ol' idiot here doesn't know where her head is.

OH!! I have also gone down a chest size aswell! Bought a new bra yesterday, worn it for the first time today and it is just that bit too loose (yaaaay), my cup size appears to have gone up though

    Anyway, food so far..

    FRIDAY

    B - Shake
    L - Shake
    D - Steak and Chips (I know, I know..)
Snacks - Low fat crackers, cashews.

    SATURDAY (today)

    B - Shake
L - Ocean Pie with loadsa veggies (loving this, so filling and so good for you)
    D - Shake
Snacks - Pasta (oops) and apple.

I am doing something right, hence the 4lb loss in 3 days, I just have to keep reminding myself that.

Right, I'm not going to update what I have eaten, as I haven't kept track of it.. purely because my son has kept me up all night this week and I feel like I could die! Oh, and I haven't really had set meals, or kept up with the shakes, but that doesn't mean I have been eating crap.. oh no.. I have barely eaten anything!! I just don't have an interest in food at the moment. I'm thinking this is a good thing, as this is my proof that my attitude towards food has changed already, but obviously I'm going to keep an eye on this, I don't want to go silly and end up starving myself.

Anyway, didn't get to weigh myself on my proper 'weigh day', but I have just weighed myself and I expected to be a bit heavier for two reasons; 1 - Because it's that time of the month, and 2 - I thought my body would be working in 'starvation mode' that you often hear about, where your body is holding on to every calorie, but nope, lost 2.5lbs (I think).

That means in 9 days I have lost half a stone, and that has taken me from being in the 15 stone to the 14! The feeling is amazing. I am just so ready to do this now, no going back. I know that I can lose weight, so I would be an absolute idiot if I gave up. I have to get healthy for my beautiful little boy and be the confident, out-going person I was before.

Oh, and I bought a pair of size 16 jeans before xmas to spur me on to get into them, and I can do them up bit tight, but I think by the end of next week they should fit like a glove. Ooo, so I'm nearly a 16 now, which means that I only have 3-4 dress sizes to go until I'm at my dream size 8-10. Lovely jubbly!

My plan for next week: Start drinking TWO shakes a day instead of just one, and have a proper meal, not just nibble at food.

Hey, it's always a good frame of mind to say you WILL do it, instead of you CAN. I kept this frame of mind since I started and it helps. Make promises to yourself now and it will be much harder to give up!

I don't know much about the diet plans around these days as I do not use them, but you look like you're doing fantastic and enjoying the diet.

Are you exercising or do you plan on exercising?

Good luck, keep going! You WILL do it!

I lift weights 5/6 times a week (for no longer than 50 minutes a session) - thats the fun part. The eating less is not so fun but my willpower is sky high at moment!

Welcome and good luck on the journey! I can relate to second guessing every snack, it's awful. The weighing thing too, to the point my partner confiscated my scales and that helped a lot until I remembered that my wii fit works as a scale Sounds like it's all goin to plan and cannot wait to see you be successful!

    Hi everyone!

My last post was 2 weeks ago, terrible!

Well done to you all that have lost weight

I haven't strictly stuck to the shakes these past 2 weeks, but haven't just completely forgotten about it. I think at most I've probably put 2lbs back on. I'm going to be extremrly good all this week, and weigh myself next Monday and log what weight I am and start again from there.

I saw a picture of me yesterday, it was taken about 2 days after I had my son (who is now 6 months old) and I look thinner there than I do now. That was a bit of an eye-opener. No more messing about for me now.

REV23 - Thank you for those very encouraging words. Means a lot! I've just started doing sit-ups and light jogging on the spot for 10 mins a few times a day. Well done on your weight loss so far! KEEP GOING

Diamond Doll - Thank you! You're in the same boat as me then. I'll make sure I read your posts and watch as you progress

Tylar - It's terrible isn't it! It can turn you crazy. I haven't been on the scales for about 2 weeks.. I just can't bear to be disappointed, but as I said above, being very good this week, and will weigh myself next Monday.

Oh, and I think I'm going to print out some pictures of women with lovely toned, but curvy bodies and put a few up on the fridge and cupbaords. Sometimes when I go to get something out of the fridge I get a picture in my head of how I used to look, and it puts me off reaching for the snack, so the picture idea should definitely help! Plus I don't think my partner will mind too much

How's everyone doing at the moment?

Well, today I was very naughty and had some of my mother-in-law's homemade bread! 3 thick slices of the stuff! BUT!! I have just done a lot of exercise and have worked out I have burnt around 560 calories doing so! So really, it has burnt off everything I have eaten today (so far) AND some of that sushi I had last night!

Doing exercise makes me feel great! Sweaty and hot, but good. It's nice knowing that I haven't just slobbed about all day drinking diet shake after diet shake

Anyway, tomorrow's another day.. let's see if I can keep this up!

So, I weighed myself yesterday because even though my official weigh-in is today (Monday), I desperately wanted to see how much weight I had put on over those 2 weeks of not following the shakes properly (and eating some junk), and I thought 'Okay, if I have put on anything up to 2lbs, I'm not going to be too bothered, anything more than that and I'll cry!', BUT, I have LOST 1lb! That was a huge shock! Having only lost 1lb in 2 weeks isn't impressive (obviously), but the fact that I had junk food and wasn't closely watching what I was eating for the whole 2 weeks, I think that's pretty amazing!

Now, exercise. Wow. I'm not one for exercising. I know it works, I just couldn't be bothered to do it.. until recently! I have been doing sit-ups and can now do 25 in about 30 seconds (yay), and the other 25 I do is a bit straining but hey-ho, it's gotta be done. Jogging on the spot.. thought I'd give it a go. The first night I tried it I did 30 mins going at a good pace.. I was dripping with sweat by the end of it, but hell it felt good! I then did another 30 mins and the next morning my knees were killing me! But I have tried to do at least 30 mins everyday, and now I hardly feel it.

I'm going to have this full week of being really strict with shakes and calories, and doing an hours jogging on the spot in 3 20 minute sessions to see how I get on. I'd like to lose 4lbs this week.
