Petals Weight Loss Diary... aaaah!!!
Hi All,
So I've decided to get back on the band wagon.. I think I've been on and off dieting for the past 10-15 years. I've tried everything from Weight Watchers, Slimming World, Celebrity Slim, Xenical, Herbalife, Slimming World, Lipotrim, Lighterlife, Xante... (woah lemme catch my breath!!!) .... Anyway.. Obviously I have not stuck to any of these diets, case of self discipline? Maybe..
Regardless I have decided to start on the 5:2 fast plan today, its seems to be getting good reviews?.. Just a different way to create a calorie deficit, worth a shot! There is a history of cancer, heart problems, diabetes in my family also, so overall I hope to gain more than just fantastic weight loss results.. I'm not a very organised person, I don't cook that much, I know this needs to change but please be patient with me until I find my feet..
So I'm soon to be 27, female, 5ft 2".. 257.4lbs.. that's 18st 5.4lbs to be exact.
Would be delighted if anyone else doing the 5:2 can offer any support, tips, recipes, motivation etc..
So Day 1, 500cals, my first fasting day, so far today, I've drank coffee and water.. later I will make a huge falafel salad and hopefully I'm alive after it to update.

So non fasting day today, out of bed quicker than usual.. feel more refreshed than I do on a usual morning. Debating in my mind on what calories I will stick to for non-fasting days. Usually I would just power in and drop down to 1200 but I don't think I will this time around.
Judging by various calculators my TDEE would be roughly 2400cals.. Seems a bit excessive for a diet? Should I do TDEE - 20%.. Something for me to ponder for the day.
Breakfast is 3 rice cakes and 3 cheese triangles (and a coffee

So total cals yesterday accumulated to 1820cals roughly.. I could have had more but said I would leave a buffer as maybe I underestimated slightly (I'm so bad with cheese) and plus, I wasn't overly hungry.
For dinner I had quesadillas, wedges and corn on the cob.
I've decided to do another 500cals day, so that would be my 2 days done for this week.
So for lunch I am having a salad bowl with cheese and balsamic vinegar, 7up free and oxo cubes (seem to be wasting alot of calories on milk for coffee). For dinner I plan mushrooms and toast. Yummmmy!
I weigh myself every morning, still down 2 pounds after fast day on Wednesday and non fast day yesterday so still motivated

So end of 2nd week for fast days, I'm down a total of 6.4lbs.. that's with overeating slightly one day over last weekend.
Find the fasting getting easier as the days go on and people say I have a bit of colour back in my face, so happy days all round
One thing is however, I need to find more options for food on fast days (and non fast days at that)
