Cambridge for Christmas 2013

Hi I'm Molly. I have 5st ish to lose over all but am hoping to shift 3.7 by dec 24th. I know it might be a little optimistic but better aim high and fall short than aim low I think!

I am going away on a ski trip on the 27th of December so feeling determined about getting into much better shape before then. My biggest weakness is chocolate, I could munch through a multipack before dinner and then have room left after.
It wasn't such a problem when I was younger and trained on teams but since giving that up I have piled on the weight.

I did start cambridge late Nov 2012 but gave up 2 weeks in. Almost a year later now and I started SS on Tuesday so have just finished day 3. So far I have felt hungry mainly at night but that is probably down to the fact that most if my eating was at night and my body still expects it.
My first weigh in is on Monday so I'm pretty excited about that at the moment.
I think I am in ketosis now so I'm determined to stay here!

I am lucky to have a very supportive boyfriend who is interested but puts no pressure on me. It's great to have someone to moan to about gross flavours or hunger pain!

I'll probably post a couple of times a day as I do find it good to be able to come on here and harp on!

So just woke up on day 4 of sole source. Day 1 to 3 have gone pretty smoothly.

Day 1 I had regular porridge - wont be getting any porridge next week, could only manage a few spoons of it,
had chicken & mushroom soup for lunch and then a warm chocolate shake in the evening. I didn't love it warm though so going to go with cold from now on.

Day 2 I had a banana shake for breakfast (yum!), vegetable soup for lunch and a chocolate shake in the evening.
Much better day flavours wise!

Day 3 Mango shake for breakfast, really thought I wouldn't like these but I was pleasantly surprised and found it easy to get down. First tried to have tomato soup for lunch, only managed to get some of it down as it tasted disgusting and was so powdery. Ended up getting sick the soup I had managed so tried a chicken & mushroom a few hours later which was fine. Had a chocolate shake in the evening.

i have been drinking absolutely loads of water. I think I must eat a lot when I'm just thirsty because it definitely gets rid of my hunger to have a big glass of water!
Craving some chocolate the most but I think when I get through a week I won't want to ruin my 7 good days.

Im ticking off a calendar at home of every day I've stayed on plan and I imagine the higher my number gets the less ill want it back at 0.

going shopping with a friend today so hopefully I can resist the temptations of coffee shops & lunch ! I think I'll say I am ill because I haven't told her about Cambridge yet and don't fancy getting into all the explaining!

Decided on some mini goals to mark progress and so it doesn't feel like one long slump! I know there is a lot of them but I do want to feel like I'm achieving things all the time rather than only making a tiny drop in the pond.

Hey Molly - just a message to subscribe to your thread. You've got me to answer to know *attempts to look menancing* only kidding :) will try my best to help and support!

So good Morning day 6!

Big wobble on Friday (day 4). Went shopping with friends, pretended I was ill so I didn't eat lunch then as the got caramel lattes I had a mint tea. At this stage I was already feeling hard done by so I don't know how I got through the cinema later that night while everyone pigged out on chocolate, nachos and fizzy drinks. I just had a sparkling water. That was definitely a hard one.

Then yesterday day 5 is my boyfriends sisters birthday and we are all invited for a meal. None of them know about Cambridge except the BF so I played the ill card again! So managed another sparkling water as they had home made tikka and korma with rice poppadums and naan bread :(
His other sister told me she can't look at a poppadum without singing "poppadum preach I'm in trouble deep..."

anyway feeling very accomplished having withstood the temptation!
My energy is great not feeling tired as I thought I would and my appetite has completely disappeared. How can I go from huge portions and snacks to this and feel fine!

Haha thanks Jen-Cheng! I'll try my best to avoid your cruel punishments! If you have any tips or advice I'd love to hear them! Also good luck with your weight loss, I see our goals are fairly similar! Do you have a diary? Xxx

Hi, I think your goal is definitely do-able if you can be 100%. When I did Lighter Life I lost 3st 4lbs in 14 weeks so I'm sure you can do it x

Hey Yo-yo!
Was that on just shakes for the 14 weeks or had you moved up to food?
First weigh in tomorrow and I've been 100% this week so I'm looking forward to it!
thanks for the encouragement! Xxx

So the end of day 6, I have my first weigh in tomorrow evening, meeting my CDC at 7 so I am looking forward to it.

Another good day today, not craving food at all. My body has really realised bye bye food!
Had a really cosy day watching movies but got through it with my products, tea and a hot water bottle! Normally a day like that would be chocolate heaven for me probably followed by Indian or Chinese so feeling good and positive!

looking forward to posting my first loss tomorrow! Night everyone xxxx

Wow! fantastic willpower on Day 4 and 5. I can feel for you there, so many young kids in my family so a lot of parties and incredibly moreish party nibbles!!

Don't have a diary as yet. I am eating more healthy as a kind-of warm up this week but will officially start my plan on Friday. Can't wait!

You are doing amazingly! Looking forward to checking in on your first weigh-in!

Hi Jen,
Thanks, those days were awful but so glad now that I powered through!
Weighed myself this morning and I think it's an 8lb loss but waiting to change anything until I see my consultant tonight as I know scales can vary hugely!

Good idea working into it I just jumped straight in from pizza Monday night to a shake for breakfast on Tuesday!
Bad idea! Ill post an update after I see my consultant later on xxx

So end of Day 7 on CD!
Wasn't sure I'd make this full week but I've given it 100% and here I am!

Went to my first WI this evening and I've lost 8lbs!!!
I've also lost 11 inches off my body so I'm feeling really positive now!

I have a quiet week ahead but a very good friends birthday party on Saturday night, I think the thought of reaching a stone in 2 weeks will keep me on the straight and narrow though just lots of fizzy water for me that night.
Looking forward to finishing week 2 and moving onto bars next week, it will be nice to have a new flavour and texture!

Had a banana shake, chicken & mushroom soup and a Chocolate mint shake today! Enjoyed them all!

on a weight loss high at the moment!
night night slimmers!
Molly xxxx

Amazing loss! Great job - keep it up chick. You'll have reached your goal weight in no time :)

Small markers I have set for myself are
1) losing 10 pounds
2)losing my first stone
3)getting under 200 pounds, I am now 222
4)getting under 14 stone
5) getting under 13.7
6)getting under 13 stone
7)reaching 12.5 for Christmas!!!

I think these markers are important to keep motivation high as you feel like your constantly achieving rather than facing a huge bulk of 60+ pounds!

Thank Saruk!
Thats the plan alright! The big losses really motivate you to stay going.
thanks for the encouragement! How are you finding your plan ? Xxx

Also ment to put earlier that my CDC told me about another girl she see's who doubles the Lbs she loses every week and puts that amount aside in cash to treat herself with at the end of the month, she has bought two new dresses in oasis and some gorgeous boots in Aldo so far! So thinking of doing this for myself too.

she was also saying when she Was on SS shed cut up all her bars into 3 at the start of the week and keep them in the fridge and take 3 pieces of different ones out for with coffee. It's no box of Roses but I guess it's as close as ill be coming for a while! Xxx

8lb forever gone on week one! Well done! Hehe thanks for the direction I'm useless :) x
