Well, here goes..
I played around with Slimming world for a few weeks after trying another diet group, which didn't work. After going on holiday in October and only putting a couple of pounds on I decided to bite the bullet and join a SW class. The leader was fab and really made me feel at home. I told her that I'd been diagnosed with an under active thyroid and she said don't be upset if you only lose small amounts as this is the only tablet doctors know can cause slow weight loss.
The first week I tried really hard, but had a charity concert in aid of my beautiful young cousin who died of Bowel Cancer aged 45, I tried really hard and even wrapped the pasty up and took it home for hubby later.. then the next night we had a Heart Foundation dinner, I rang up the place and asked what was for dinner ( what a good girl) As it was a full ,what I call Sunday Roast, I though I'd go for the vegetables and meat after the vegetable soup, but leave the proffiteroles. Which is exactly what I did. I also drunk diet coke!!! It all paid off as I lost 1.5lbs the first week.
The second week I spotted an offer from our local butcher..a low fat pack of meat, so I ordered it. When we got it home hubby and I sat down and wrote meals for all the different meats. Anal I know but weight loss is weight loss.
We had gammon (fatfree) tomatoes, egg, beans, mushrooms good meal so another day sorted.
Saturday I made in the slow cooker cut up steak with the same mushrooms, onions, cougettes, peppers and oxo, all free we had a jacket potato with it.
All the meals followed this type of thing i've never been so full. We often had sweet potato instead of white .
My breakfast consist of 2 weetabix and skimmed milk and for lunch a two egg omlette with beans or spaghetti hoops. I know its a bit samey but I like it and its easy to syn..none!
The second week I lost another 1lb like I've said its slowly slowly, but at the meeting today we were talking of how hard it is and three other people said they had under active thyroid too, so we all know how the others feel.
So today I'm going to work out our meals again, see if it works...thanks for reading and any helpful hints would be appreciated.
