Hi All,

This is the first time I have ever participated in any kind of forum like this and so am a bit apprehensive though I have looked at this website for some time and know that there are compassionate people using this site.

I started following Slimming World around 5 weeks ago and am really enjoying it and have lost 16lbs already and can't believe that I am eating more than I have ever done on a diet. I have been overweight since I was around 8 years old (maybe even before that) and have been put on numerous 600Kcal diets, low fat, high protein, low carb, cabbage, egg, low glucose and initially I have felt encouraged by the wight loss but then I end up bigger than I was before.

I have now twigged that it needs a whole new mindset and I have to say that although I am not there yet, I think I am getting there. I have a very big mountain to climb but I am determined that I will succeed this time because I am not on a diet, I have changed the way I eat for ever. I am not saying that I will never eat something 'unhealthy' but I won't go back to the out of control way I was before. I have made that commitment to myself.

I hope that I can meet some new friends on this website and hopefully we can share our progress.

Well done on starting SW and on your great loss so far that's amazing! Trust me you won't look back.

I started in Jan 2013 and by Aug/Sept I had lost 6stone. I've kind of been stop starting since then, not really trying etc. started again last week and feeling really good. I find it really helpful posting here and reading other diaries for ideas.

Aww thanks so much, it's been a long time getting here but determined to do it this time.

Feel free to have a nosey at my diary anytime, I'm not sure how to link it as I mostly use my phone app. And any recipes etc you have I'd love to hear about! :)
 
Welcome and well done on your weightloss. Keep up the great work it is all about mindset and seeing it as a lifestyle change not a diet. I am on herbalife as sw didnt worm for me I am currently 26lbs lighter hoping to make that 28 before I go on holiday on monday
