Weight Loss and powerlifting

I've always been big even as a kid, but after my 20's and working in IT I really put on the pounds.
About 4 years ago I joined a gym and started going 2 to 3 times a week, this made a big difference to my weight and I've dropped 8 inches of my waist with no modification to my diet, although I now have stalled around my current weight of 164kg (361lbs)

I started power lifting training last November and my trainer says to improve my lifting I need to lose more of my belly :)
So my target it to lose 40kg (88 lbs) without losing any strength in the next 12 months, hope that's not too optimistic.

I'll be following the Slimming World diet.

I think you're nail that :)
someone with the discipline to powerlift will be able to take on SW and win
Go go go :D

You can do it. Will be waiting for your results. Im on sw myself and I know it works. When you add all the work-outs , there should be no reason to get into the goal weight :) good luck

Good luck with your weight loss! It'll be interesting to see if you can maintain strength, I'm sure you can do it! Especially if you're already used to being disciplined about going to the gym

Two first yesterday, first weight in after starting the diet and my first powerlifting event.

Good results in both :)

I've lost 4kg in the first week and lifted a combined total of 500kg ( 1102lbs ) in the competition.

So well pleased with the week :D

WELL DONE!!

Thanks everyone, into the third week now, last week not as much of a drop down to 158.8kg now.
Really craving chocolate and breakfast cereal at the moment lol

Hi
Well done on your loss so far. How do you find SW ?
You said you want chocolate and breakfast cereal. I have something for you. That everyone in sw love.
Kelloggs all bran chocolate wheats.
30 g (15 wheats) are healthy extra. Try them. They worked magic for my chocolate craving.

Thanks, I am getting on okay with SW, missing bread (used to eat a lot) and breakfast cereals, I'll have a look at that chocolate one :)

Third weigh in last Sunday, down to 157.4kg now :D

After attending a 40th birthday party at the weekend and not really following the diet for 2 days surprised to have lost 1.3kg this week, now down to 152kg.
