Nutribullet

Its possible I guess that I may have been the only person on the planet NOT to have heard of Nutribullet , but I came across the word on facebook a while ago where someone in Tenerife (where I live normally) wanted to know where they could buy one. My first thought was fad diet thing, and maybe my first thought will turn out to be correct in the long run, but as im currently in the UK for a few weeks, I looked it up, was impressed by its promises of good nutrition so I bought one from ebay where they are about £25 cheaper than the high street or amazon.

Its basically a high powered blender, NOT a blender according to the americanised infomercial on youtube, but a nutrition extractor. Its a blender. But importantly for me its not a juice extractor. I know juice extractors have been all the rage for a couple of years and I do have one, but im not convinced they are a good thing. Sure you end up with a vitamin packed drink, but its also sugar/fructose packed and severely lacking any fibre, whereas this nutribullet thing liquidizes everything, hard veg like raw beetroot, carrots, stringy celery, nuts and seeds, there are no bits, it produces a very smooth smoothie but with all the fibre in there too.

So I started a nutribullet diet by accident almost, and in less than 4 weeks ive lost 17lbs. I started at 15.10 and now im 14.7 and down from a 22 to a fairly loose 18, even I can see the difference. I have 2 a day in place of breakfast and lunch or breakfast and dinner, and a meal of some sort. 3 times a week I go to a local Toby Carvery, but I make sensible choices, no potato or anything obviously greasy. They do really good Turkey breast so I have that and fill my plate up with veg, and a little gravy and its so delicious, and so cheap at £6.29 a head. I only drink soda water when im out (well, actually that's not totally true, if im not driving ill have a glass of red) and soda water is free at Toby so that's a bargain!

By next Monday when I return to Tenerife I will have been following this diet for 4 weeks. Im hopeful that a little more weight will have come off by then and my hubby who has not seen me for 4 weeks will have a bit of a surprise! Im also hoping that I can continue this regime as I do feel so much better for consuming a lot of fresh veg each day, something I don't normally have too much of. Im not looking to keep up such a rapid weight loss, in fact at my age (im retired) I do not need to be skinny, saggy skin is not a good fashion statement currently, but my circumstances of having to be in the UK for 4 weeks, and any lack of desire to enter a kitchen and cook for myself have resulted in this little gift to myself.

Is anyone else using Nutribullet? would love to know how you are getting on with it.

So I found my post again, I posted this in general and its been moved to the diary section. Oh well, it wasn't going to be a diary but I guess it may as well be now.

Still on 2 nutriblasts a day and a small meal in between, weight has levelled out at 92kg for a few days but im ok with that, I couldn't keep up the weight loss I was getting in any case.

Im back to Tenerife on Monday and taking my cat with me, what a performance that has been! Seems that the UK vets are still not totally aware of whats needed or why for a pet passport. Fortunately I decided to employ an agent at the Tenerife end and they have been invaluable with the advice ive received from them. If I had listened to my vet, my cat would be going into quarantine on Monday as the vet actually advised AGAINST him having the rabies jab. His reasoning was that there is no rabies in the UK so my cat does not represent a thread to the wildlife in Tenerife. I can see his point, but the law is clear on the requirement for Rabies when entering Tenerife, fortunately the agent was able to advise me correctly.

Ive dropped from size 20 jeans to some rather nice M&S size 16 ones, quite a result! and they fit very comfortably. Im just hoping my dear husband actually notices the difference when I get back to him on Monday.

I sent him a shopping list of fruit and veg that I need so that I can continue the regime, he did say he thought it was a bit odd but has done his best to source the things I need. He doesn't actually know about the Nutribullet diet I am on, so im surprised he hasn't questioned the things I've asked for

Husband was suitably impressed with my weight loss on my arrival in Tenerife. Yesterday was a bit of an odd day eating wise and we went out for a quick meal in the evening, but back on my plan again today. Fortunately my scales here in Tenerife are dead and I have no spare batteries, so I have an opportunity to stay off them for a few days! im very bad with scales, I get obsessed with weighing when im dieting, and inevitably the weight loss slows up or even increases slightly and then im thrown into a panic. Stay OFF the scales!

Husband is joining me in the nutriblasts, although he will eat stuff in the evening that I wont touch, for instance tonight is going to be chicken strips, hash browns and bread rolls! just as well he Is having the nuttibullet smoothies to give him something healthy to offset all the gre4asy food! My dinner will be a salad!

We did eat out last night with friends, but eating out has to be part of my plan because that's what we do a LOT of here. I guess im doing a kind of 4:3 or JUDDD type diet where im very strict one day and off plan the next, it works for me so im happy I can indulge.

Hey, sorry to butt into your convo lol... but was just wondering whether you are still using the nutribullet and how you found it??
