My 5:2 Diary (didn't get to goal in 2014 - planning on getting there in 2015!)

Hello everyone!!

Well I started off 2014 fully focused on Slimming World. I lost 1.5 stone, however I met my OH early this year and we only see each other on weekends (due to living 3 hours away from each other!) :-( so weekends are spent eating out, having drinks etc and I found SW really hard to continue. So....after doing some research on the 5:2 plan and reading some very inspirational diaries on here, I have now embarked on my 5:2 journey and I'm hoping to make 2015 MY year!

I am planning on fasting Mondays and Wednesdays. Tomorrow is my 2nd week and in my first week I lost 4.5lbs. I really think this plan will suit my lifestyle much better than SW, however I'm planning to loosely follow SW on my non-fast days.

I'm not going to call my non-fast days "feast days" as I'll lose the run of myself and eat loads! lol....

Fingers crossed this is my last every attempt at losing weight!!!

I think following SW on your non fast days is a great idea as you already know it works and i think the 5:2 diet is more suitable for you as like u said u have a busy weekend so the two fast days will compensate for your higher food intake at weekends xx its obviously working for u as u have had a great loss this first week x good luck and well done x
 
Thanks Blades... I'm actually really excited about it going to fast two days this week and then enjoy Christmas before kicking it all off again...

Don't blame you xx im taking the slightly more laid back approach before xmas as still want to enjoy it and not think about dieting lol xx I have half a lb to my club 10 award and 4lbs till my 1.5st award which if im good these next 2 weeks I may just get both but id be happy with my club 10 :D X

Hi Fi - I think there might be something in doing it on mon and weds. I do it mon tues to get it out the way but always overeat on weds because I'm craving food like mad! Think I might switch after Christmas :)
 
I couldn't do B2B fast days Blondcat so fair play to you I like that I'm starting my week with a fast as my weekend food isn't great... I'll have to move some Wednesday fasts to Thursdays but I can cope with that I really like how this way of eating fits around my way of life. I can't wait for my "real" journey to begin in January without the temptation of Christmas goodies everywhere

Fast day today and here's what I had:

Red bull - 113kcals
Sugar free jelly - 5kcals
Lunch:
2 * ryvita original crackerbreads - 38kcals
1 cheese triangle - 42kcal
4 slices of tomato - 10kcals
Dinner:
Nest of noodles - 158kcals
Soup - 204 kcals

Total kcals = 580 (80kcals over. I definitely need to change to sugar free red bull but I just wasn't 100% organised today)

Really looking forward to a normal day tomorrow

"Normal" day today... Had quite a few quality street sweets damn Christmas lol... Looking forward to my fast day tomorrow. I finish work on Friday so tomorrow is probably the last fast day I will do until January... I'm going to enjoy Christmas and really get focused again in January... x

Fast day today :
Found it hard today due to TOTM However I managed to stick to it.. Woo hoo

Today's fast day food :
Lunch:
2 cracker bread 38 cals
1 cheese triangle 42 cals
4 slices tomato 10 cals
1 can red bull 113 cals
1 sugar free jelly 6 cals

Dinner :
Salad 25 cals
Salad cream 100 cals
Quorn chicken pieces 178 cals

Total: 512 cals...
But I'm bloody starving lol... I changed my fast day dinner from soup and noodles to chicken salad and I feel a lot hungrier... I will be going to bed soon to stop me from caving in x

Weighed in this morning... Delighted that I've lost again. I'm down half a stone in two weeks.. delighted with this diet... Can't wait to get started properly in January

Going to really enjoy Christmas and then get back to it with a vengeance in January x

Good morning diary My last weigh in was 18th December and I was dreading hopping on the scales this morning I had an amazing Christmas and new year. I ate and drank and didn't worry about the scales. I weighed in this morning and was only up 5lbs. I'm over the moon as I was expecting at least twice that...

So I'm back on it. The first fast of 2015... Woo hoo I will post my food later. Good luck everyone.

First day done and dusted - woo hoo. Went over by 68cals, but I'm more than happy with that!

Today I had:
2 crackerbread, cheese, 1 tomato = 89cals
1 red bull (my weakness!!!) = 113cals
Soup with noodles = 362cals
Sugar free jelly = 4cals
Total = 568 cals

Roll on tomorrow - going to eat "normal". No feast days until the weekend ;-)

Going to bed because I'm starving ;-)
