1 week in!

I yo-yo between 10 and 11 stone, frequently complaining that I want to be thinner and fitter. I'm a size 10/12 but I'm not toned. I've finally decided to get a grip and start doing something about it!

I have been eating egg or peanutbutter/banana toast for breakfast

Salad or ricecakes and ham or leftovers of dinner for lunch

Dinners are light meals, low carb but I eat as much as I need to fill up

Snacks are nuts, veg crisps (occasionally), dark chocolate. I limit the portions that I can snack on and I dry filling up with water or herbal tea before I snack.

I've been going to the gym 2-4 times per week, including 1 yoga class and 1 toning class per week. I also have starting wearing a pedometer as of today, and plan to ensure I do a minimum of 5,000 steps per day.

So I started last week on 145 pounds, 5 foot 6. I've just weighed myself and I'm down to 143, which is progress already! Will continue to my goal, which is about 130 pounds, but I go more on how I look and feel than numbers on the scales.

I will post weekly updates if anyone cares to join :)

Good luck laraos. I think you probably represent a lot of the country - probably not overweight but a little heavier than you want to be and not that toned. Like me!!!

I dropped from 12st to 9st before Christmas. Back up to 9st 11 following an absurd 6weeks of partying but on the way back down. 8st is the dream :)
