20 weeks 20 lbs

H guys! I'm new to this!! I've been inspired reading other people's diaries and thought keeping my own would help keep me on track!

On Monday night I was face timing my sister and as much as I was trying to concentrate on the conversation, all I could think about was the hideous image of myself I was seeing in the corner. So I decided to take immediate action! I made myself a cuppa and ate the dairy milk my hubby bought me! And finally my fridge was rid of any temptation and I could start my journey the next day!

I have a 2 yr old and before I fell pregnant I was going to the gym 4-5 days a week and had a personal trainer. I was happy and I want to return to that place! As a teacher I have to do a lot of work at home, which takes up a lot of my time, so fitting in exercise has not been a priority, but im booked into a women's fitness class tomorrow!! And I've decided that I won't let my job stop me from doing exercise any longer!!

I am a bridesmaid in 20 weeks time and have decided to set my goal to lose 1lb per week in that time!! Hence, 20 weeks, 20 lbs! I'm currently 11st 3lbs, near to the heaviest I've ever been. I DONT want to see that number 11 more than twice again (at 10st 11 and 9 st 11!!!) .

I want to be confident, feel healthy, look healthy and be happy!! Xx

Thanks - I really hope so!!

I'm just doing my own healthy eating and exercise thing! For the last four days it's basically been a case of, reducing chocolate, and added sugar, and trying to eat more fruit and veg. I've done weight watchers before, years ago but I wasn't sticking to it so was wasting my money.

I've got the myfitnesspal app and have used that quite a bit in the past so it's given me a good idea of what I can eat in a day. I've tried this method in the past with success so I know it works, the problem has been my inability to stick to it! That is why I went in pursuit of a forum like this one!

Food for today

breakfast - banana and a glass of water
snacks - Banana and mixed nuts and seeds (the bananas were "teeny tiny" as someone pointed out to me!)
lunch - ham sandwich and M&s lot cal crisps, an apple
dinner - Cajun seasoned chicken breast, couscous and mixed leaf salad.

Been on a course today so I took my lunch and snacks with me. Usually when on courses I eat a twix mid morning then a heavily calorific panini so I was able to avoid that.

looking forward to the class tomorrow morning! This diary I feel is going to be very therapeutic!!!

Posting now because I'm feeling really hungry. When I'm at home I just pick at food all the time. At school I have a good routine and only eat at break and lunch time-weekends are another story.

The class this morning was right up my street-core and leg work followed by a circuit. Next week is booked already! Although my legs are now like jelly!

So far today I've eaten
Early breakfast - banana and a couple of strawberries
Mid-morning - porridge with seeds and a few nuts on the side
Lunch - 2 pieces of piri piri chicken, tomato, red pepper and red onion soup and a Greek style yoghurt

Gona watch a load of rugby this afternoon to distract me from food!

Tonight I'm going out for dinner with my friends so will have a good main meal but no dessert or starter.

I've only drunk water plus a couple of cups of tea this week, so may have a fizzy drink tonight as a treat for being good!!

And I've miscalculated my goal weight! 20lbs would get me down to 9st 11lbs not 9st 10lbs. This error is worrying considering that maths is what I do all day!! ?

Here to sub, your plan sounds good and 20 lbs in 20 weeks is very doable, good luck X

Hi

Thanks for your message. I'm optimistic at the moment, I just hope I can keep it going.

I'm gona try and up my activity levels too. Now that it's light later at night there'll be more opportunity

I didn't finish writing that! More opportunity to go for a walk after work I was gona say!!

I love going for walks in the evening ... did 5 miles with a friend yesterday. ...We've mapped out a 5 mile walk with a pub at the halfway point. ...perfect for summer evenings

Lovely night last night although wasn't feeling great when I got home! Had a burger with chips and 2 cans of diet coke. I don't know which of those were to blame, but I was really bloated afterwards. I'm thinking it was probably the diet coke, cos I haven't had any in a week.

So to sum up, food yesterday:

Breakfast- banana, strawberries, porridge with seeds, nuts (in 2 sittings)

Lunch-piri piri chicken pieces, tomato, pepper and onion soup, Greek style yogurt

Mid afternoon snack - bowl of strawberries and raspberries (shared with my daughter)

Dinner-burger and chips

Drinks-2 litres water, green tea and 2 cans of diet coke

Exercise- ladies fitness class

Today I'm cooking Sunday lunch for my mum (and dad and brother) for Mother's Day, but will try to be good otherwise I

It might have been the bread from the burger that made you bloated. ... i find that as I don't eat bread very often it leaves me bloated after.

Glad you had a good night, enjoy your day today x

Lol re the maths not being right - I'm worse... Maths all day and I get the simplest of sums wrong!!

Glad you started your diary. The hunger thoughts will soon decrease and the key really is to switch off from snacking. I've found diet drinks a really bad idea too - although they are low in cals I think the artificial sweeteners just increase your craving for bad stuff.

keep it up and remember there's likely to be a time lag of a few weeks for things to turn around and the weight to really start coming off.

Hey just popping in to say hi!! 20 OR 21 lbs in 20 weeks sounds totally manageable! You'll get loads of support and motivation here, everyone is really nice and encouraging.
What day are you going to weigh? Will be checking in to see how you are getting on, love hearing about other people's losses!!x

Hi everyone! Have had a busy morning and afternoon on my feet cooking! Having a rest now!!

Bex - I don't think it was the bread because I've been eating bread all week. It was toasted though. I'm quite sure it was the diet coke. I've only had water and one cup of tea today and feel much better.

Unfortunately I had the bright idea of making cakes so I've eaten a couple of those. I'm not going to beat myself up about it though. If I deprive myself of everything it'll be harder to maintain I think.

I really appreciate the support and encouragement from you all. I'm confident it will help me to keep going!! X

I forgot to say - Tuesday is weigh in day for me as that was the day I started.
I just ate another cake oops!! There are no more now though so I'm done! X

Lol, running out of cake is one good way to stop eating it! I had family round this afternoon and kept topping up their wine to make sure there wasn't a bottle left open and half full for me to drink this evening! X

That's also a good tactic-more effective than mine!! I did resist the chocolate my daughter was trying to give me though.

So food for today

Breakfast- scrambled egg and mushrooms -cooked by hubby for Mother's Day

Lunch - roast chicken dinner (small portion-I've never been one to have a massive plate of roast dinner) , fresh fruit salad for dessert, 4 fairy cakes with buttercream and jam topping.

I'm not having dinner cos I feel a bit sick after the cake.

3 cups of tea and water

Hope I can exercise tomorrow although my legs are aching after the fitness class yesterday. I've got a lot of fitness DVDs by a certain celebrity so I will do one of those and try to mix it up during the week.

Food today

Breakfast - nothing (I didn't get up early enough)
Snack-banana & clementine

Lunch - tomato, pepper and onion soup, crisps (99cal m&s ones), clementine, nuts and seeds

Snack - mini piri piri chicken fillet, small bite of my daughter's flake (it was about 1cm long), 5 raspberries

Dinner-red salmon and spring onion fish cake, carrot, mushroom and sugar snap pea stir fry, sweet potato chips, sweet chilli sauce.

Tomorrow I'll make sure I get up earlier to have weetabix for Breakfast.

I haven't done exercise as I'm still in pain from Saturday.

Really need to increase my water consumption-that will be my main aim for the next week.

Weigh in tomorrow. Fingers crossed. I know it's 20lb in 20 weeks, which is a pound a week but I'm thinking the latter few pounds will be harder to shift therefore I wouldn't mind losing a bit more this week.

Horrendous day tomorrow work wise -full day of lessons, morning and break time duty (in the canteen amongst the bacon rolls and cheese on toast), lunchtime meeting, and a couple of my not so favourite classes! It's gona be a long day!!

Today 10st 13.8lbs
Loss of 3.6 lbs

Break time snack - banana
