![]() What is Slimming World exactly? Is it just a plan that you follow or a group or...? How much does it cost to follow?

The group meeting is great as it gives you extra support but if you do the online or postal membership you can get plenty of support and advice from here anyway. It is a really simple plan that, once you get into it, can be done without thinking. No weighing or measuring of food and so versatile |

My Mood: Rep Power: 8 ![]() ![]() ![]() Diet: Lighterlife | you CAN eat loads on slimming world and still lose weight, it really is a good plan, but my only worry with it, is it does not teach portion control, it basically allows you to eat as much as you want which can still encourage binging. (my personal opinion, i hope not to offend anyone) Diane xx |

I seem to be doing okay at the moment, just by eating very little. I am in control BUT I'm worried I'm not eating enough for my little girl (whose only source of nutrition and sustenance comes from my breastmilk). I need to think about my food intake and really come up with a careful plan... I might need some expert advice, though. So might try something like WW or SL anyway, and hope that the binge-monster doesn't come for me! ![]()

Today's achievement: I successfully walked past the bakers without buying one of my favorite cornflake cake... or 5 (always gets me usually). I'm feeling quite proud of that ![]() |

SW may not teach portion control but you do have to control WHAT you eat. |

My Mood: Rep Power: 3 ![]() Diet: Hypnotherapy - sort of. Marisa Peer | Hi Taz nice to see you here & well done for making the decision to change too!I'm a teenager as well (17) & decided to do something about my weight as i felt the same as you - much to young to resign to being 'the chubby one'( ) any moreI'd like to recommend a book by someone called Marisa Peer called 'you can be thin'. The thing i loved about it was it helped me to understand why i binged so much and informed me about changing thinking and stuff It really helped me so i just wanted to throw it in the mixing pot ![]() Good luck & let us know how you get on Daisy x (ps here's the link to the site if you want it) |

I know many people who have done SW to lose the weight while still being able to satisfy their big appetites then switching to WW to learn the portion control |

My Mood: Rep Power: 1 ![]() Diet: The cut-out-all-the-crap-and-eat-sensibly-for-once diet ;) | Anyone who has ever worked hard on a diet, and I mean really hard! will know how DEVINE a slap-up meal can taste at the end of the day - Perhaps because you're so damn hungry by that point that anything could taste nice?? haha I ate the minimum amount of food required to feed myself and my daughter today, and my reward was that dinner tasted better than you could possibly imagine!! I made myself a massive aubergine and potato curry, and it felt like a little bit of heaven on my lips! AND I DESERVED EVERY BITEFUL haha Best feeling in the world! I can't wait to weigh myself on Saturday - I've been so good so far - have only slipped once (ice cream and baby biscuits ) and I am feeling so positive and motivated! I really hope I've lost at least a few lbs this week... I'll be a bit disappointed if I haven't. Wish me luck!![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I feel good! I'm even beginning to feel a bit better about my body already - even though it hasn't started to change yet, I know that it will so it's okay that it is not perfect yet. It took 9 months for me to put this weight on - Realistically I should give myself that same amount of time to get it off, right? There's no rush (as long as I fit in that dress next month!). |

My Mood: Rep Power: 0 ![]() ![]() ![]() | Wow, you certainly sound happy and positive thats great, that sort of attitude always helps during the tough task of dieting. So good for you and I hope that your motivation lasts a long time. ![]() Your dinner certainly looks tasty although I am not a lover of aubergine personally, but I love potato. It looks like you really enjoyed your dinner. Its nice to see that smile on your face. ![]() Don't be too disappointed if you don't see the result you want on Saturday, you are just starting out and it does take time as you say. So no matter what keep doing what your doing and stay happy and healthy and you will definitely achieve your goals. Good Luck. See you again soon. xx |

My Mood: Rep Power: 1 ![]() Diet: The cut-out-all-the-crap-and-eat-sensibly-for-once diet ;) | Was just looking through some old photos and found these: Before turning vegetarian (14 years old): ![]() (I’m the one at the back with my arms wide apart) What would you say? Size 8? Smaller even?? (Yes, there was such a time that I was skinny…) About 6 months to a year into my vegetarian lifestyle (now 15): ![]() Size 16-18. Wow. I think I see what Mr Atkins was on about! |

That was just in 6 months???!!! You sound so positive and happy and that is really good. Even when you aren't yet seeing the changes, just the feeling of being in control and doing something positive for yourself can really lift your spirits |
