BBQ Food

Hello Everyone,

I am having a BBQ on Easter Sunday and would like to be really good on my diet.

Does anybody know any low point foods that can be barbequed?

I am going to make some chicken kebabs as these are low in points value.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I LOVE bbqs! I normally try to stick to chicken breast, or kebabs made with lots of peppers, onion, mushrooms, bns, courgette and chicken breast pieces. chipolatas are better than "normal" sausages. plenty of salad. Go easy on the rolls and things like potato salad, but I'm a firm believer in being able to have anything as long as it is in moderation. enjoy!

Thanks for that Dinx, I reckon Im going to purchase them 95% fat free sausages as I am sure they are only 1 point each, but other than that I reckon its salad and chicken. I WILL be slim :)

I got some venison and red onion burgers from marks and spencers, they were gorgeous and only 2 points...amazing!!!!

great points value, not sure I could eat venison, but it does sound nice....might be worth a try, I didnt have any burgers at my bbq as I knew they would be quite high, did miss it though :)

The morrisons eat smart cumberland sausages are only 1 point each and are lovely x

no probs - i meant to say 2 sausages not 3!!

ok :

2 morrisons eat smart sausages - 2 points

batter

40g plain flour - 2 points
1 egg - 1.5 points
1/4 pint milk - 0.5

Gravy - either oxo which is free or 2 teaspoons gravy granules - 0.5 points

cook the sausages (i grill mine), spray a deepish tin with 1-cal oil, put in a hot oven, once the tin is hot chuck it all in together and stick it in the oven till it browns.........
depending on how deep your tin is will equate how thick your batter is!!

serve with free veg and enjoy!! 6.5 points, and any more sausages area measley 1 point each!!!!!!!!
