ProPoints ... Back on track for the LAST TIME... x

Charlotte-Eve

x It's my year to shine x
Hi all,

been kicking around this site for a couple of months now.. I have a WI diary to help keep me on track, and I read most the diaries on here every day, I love the motivation and success stories, also it's great to relate to everyone's ups and downs.

I thought it was about time I started my own food diary - I need some help!

I basically live at home with my mother, but I live totally independently, buy all my own food, cook, clean etc etc. I'm pretty self sufficient, survived at uni for 4 years (I say survived, I gained 3 stone on booze and takeaways...and lost it after graduating!) and after giving up a 15 year lacto-ovo vegetarian streak last year I like to think I'm quite experimental with food...

When I can be bothered!

I have this awful habit of not eating. It's half laziness, half lack of inspiration. I'll not eat for 2 days and then gorge on pizza, garlic bread, chips, chocolate, cake and sweets.

Even now I'm on PP I find myself doing the same, generally on a sunday when the OH goes to work for the day, then goes home as he plays with his drift car (pfft) on mondays. I just can't be bothered to cook when he's not here! Today is a prime example, hence why I'm starting the diary, as I need to be shamed for my silly behaviour... It doesn't help that I've been off work for 7 weeks due to a pretty severe prolapsed disc which I'm awaiting treatment for.

Where I work is annoying - I had 2 days off in August as I could barely open my eyes due to a pretty horrible cold, so this is now counted as my 2nd sickness (in the 2.5yrs I've been there!) I spoke to HR last week (I'm not getting company sick pay anymore) and if I came back and went off sick for my operation, I'd be entitled to sick pay again - but I'd get a disciplinary. Obviously I'm not really well enough to go back and do my normal job, hence why I offered to go back and maybe work gently in the office, but I'm not allowed, unless I want that black mark against my name. Ridiculous.

So now I have to wait until my day surgery appointment comes through, and then once it's done I have to completely relax for 7 days to recover. It's a nightmare!

I'd love some input, I'm getting some ideas from the fab diaries I've been reading so fingers crossed I can transfer this to my food intake! I've gone through all my old "Your Week" mags and am converting old points to new points.

26/49 weeklies used.

So far this week I've had 18/49 weeklies (I weigh on friday evenings, start my tracking on a saturday and went to a BBQ yesterday!)

See what I mean about silly eating? Mini meringue OVERLOAD!!!

That bake I made was MASSIVE! so filling! Had a whole aubergine in it, 4 tomatoes, a little bit of mozarella and a little sprinkle of LF mature cheddar. Was yum.

Anyway, thanks for reading this epic post! xx

Oh, before I forget, when I first started this journey I took before piccies in my bra and pants to document the change - I have a few I will post up (I'm in my laptop now and they're on another computer!) so if I'm brave enough, I'll post some up. Always helps to visualise what was and what is :p

Thanks miss marie :)

Yesterday was another fail of a Sunday, well within my points though - I was only expecting on getting 1 egg, from my mum.. well it turns out I got that, one from my OH and a lindt gold bunny (Small-ish one, he told me he looked for the tiny ones but couldn't find them, bless ), one from work (even though I've not been there for 7 weeks!) and apparently my BF's mum has got me one! DAMN CHOCOLATE!

TOTM falls this week.. not sure how it will affect me. Only been doing WW-PP for 8 weeks, 1st week was TOTM (obviously lost a lot of water so have to discount that 4lb loss) and lost 1lb the following month (after a STS) so not quite sure how this will affect this week's WI. I used to lose 4lb every other month on Discover! TMI info I know, but getting used to how my body works again after the year break...

Back is really bad today so going to try go for my walk, but not sure how far I'll get.

Oh god... I'm tucking into my first ever bacon sandwich... IT'S YUM! I threw caution to the wind, bought some megapoint bread, but you know what... it's well worth it :)

Also invested in 1pp mini twister lollies and some more fridge raider chicken bites, as they're delish.

mmmm bacon sandwiches, absolutely love them :) i think bread thats high in points is worth it too, i often have thick bread and think its so much better then like thin weightwatchers bread so i would rather use the points on it lol. x

Not necessarily having a bad week.. it's more an "I just can't be bothered" week. The OH was off for a few days and we've been out an about, hence the calorie-riffic cupcakes - had a massive headache and nausea and needed an instant pick me up. Damn good, I don't regret them at all!

OH is back at work today, TOTM should be over tomorrow so back on track. Not expecting a loss this week as my stomach really isn't feeling great, and I'm prepared for this. Besides, I'm only a couple of lbs away from my inital goal and top-end BMI so I'm not in a huge rush.

Anyway back to the food diary and yesterday was another poor choices day! Although went to Whitstable and AVOIDED the chippy!

Hi, I had a prolasped disc and had a spianal fusion operation for it just over 15 years ago. It didn't really help much I'm afraid to say, just wondering what day operation you are having? I've tried all sorts of different things which didn't really help. Most days now it's OK but when I do too much of anything it hurts. I think your work is crazy, can't you get advise from the Citizens Advice, how can they give you a warning if you are really sick, that just can't be right, surely it's against the law to discipline someone who truly has a illness. I tried to go back to work myself after my operation but just was in too much pain.

Good luck with it all and the diet.

hey charoltte gad i am not he only one who uses my weeklies for the bad stuff lol well seriously thought i was doing it all wrong and that i was using my weeklies just because .love readin your diary keep up the good work and well donre for losin the pound and on your weight loss so far x

That's the worry with surgery - not too happy if it does resort to that. Were you pain free for any amount of time after the op?

The day surgery is a cortisone injection/epidural (it has a fancy name but I can't recall it) and that seems as though it's not going to help long term either. But I'll try anything.

I feel for you with your pain - such a struggle isn't it? And employers don't understand, because the only back pain the majority of people suffer is a bit of an ache, or backache from period pains.

I work for Sainsbury's - it's company policy if you have 3 sicknesses in a year, regardless of whether you're authorised for it, you'll get a warning. it's absolutely disgusting, I'd worked there 2 years with not even 1 hour off for appointments etc, and I get this threat over my head for something so serious.

If I go back to work and postpone my spinal injection until the end of August (a year after my 1st sickness) I won't get disciplined - but I'll be creating more discomfort on my spine, it's agony sitting/standing/laying/walking/moving. I feel like they don't believe me too - I'm only 27 and because of my track record (excellent employee, comes to work to help out, works through colds and illnesses, top of the pile productivity-wise) I get made to feel like I'm putting it on because I soldier through everything else!

Do you still receive treatment for your back, or just grin and bear the pain when it happens?

Thanks for your words :) and good luck to you too x

Lol! I honestly do not see the point in starting a diet that I'm not going to stick to - I firmly believe that by having "naughties" like a 15pp cake after a mcds, or spending 12 of my weeklies on snacks keeps me on the straight and narrow and will make this more manageable once I've lost this last 1-2stone! You should definitely enjoy your weeklies I agree. Thanks for reading my diary too :p

and WOW :eek::eek: Your weightloss is FABBBB! Not long to go until goal by the looks of your stats! Well done!

Monday 2nd May - Bank Holiday Fell Off The Wagon!

I fell, spectacularly, but I knew I would (Kind of planned to...) and I've jumped straight back on. I've written off all my weeklies to cover it and will be doing any exercise I can to help.

My OH and I were up at 5am to go to a car show, where he was going to be drifting - I literally grabbed some junk from a petrol station, and shortly after the turbo on his engine blew: cue stressed OH, making a stressed Charlotte and a rubbish day spent sat in the car bored.

Breakfast
Shortbread bar
Mentos
3x cocktail sausages
Spots Vs. Stripes bar

Lunch
Paprika Crisps
Bacon Burger
Fudge

Dinner
Cajun Prawns
Taster plate (garlic mushrooms/2xgarlic bread/onion rings)
Cheesecake Slice

Snacks

Creme Egg

I'm not tracking points as I haven't a clue - but Tuesday is a new day

Thursday 5th May

Really down at the minute - still in the middle of a feud with my mother (I say feud, she's given me the silent treatment for 4 weeks with no let up - and I think she's going on holiday next week) so I'm stressed and looking for a full time job for once I'm better, to give me more money and therefore a bigger deposit as I'm considering moving ooop norrrff as the housing is 1/4 of the price as down here. I used to live in Stoke (ahem) for Uni, and most of my family are Mancs! I love it.

Food's not suffered really, I tend not to eat when I'm down, but my sleep has though as my OH is changing careers and having to research lots, and had his first interview for this new role today so I'm just worrying. My back is still bad, my belly still painful and bloated and my neck and hip are still causing me agony. Oh well huh, life is too short to stress!

Walked a mile to the polling station (or so GoogleMaps tells me), then another 5 mins to the Drs surgery, then to the bus stop... took my first ever "proper" bus trip since leaving uni 5 years ago! Walked around town for about an hour and a half and came home. Treated myself to some new hairdye, was looking through old pictures and love it when it's bright red... so fingers crossed!

This is todays food - not sure what I'll have for dinner. Had brekkie at 9:30am, lunch at 5pm so not massively hungry! Will probably graze on treats :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
