ProPoints Diary of a WW virgin

Hi everyone. I'm a bit premature with my diary as I don't join until Thursday night but am very excited and thought if I did a diary on here I might motivate myself more to be good!!!

A bit about myself then. I'm 32, been married for 9 years, have 2 step kids - one who lives with us full time - aged 18 and 15. I work full time behind a desk and although I'm not my heaviest I feel it. I have about 4 stone to lose. Im 5ft 8 and believe i weigh 15st although will confirm this on Thursday!! I have done slimming world on and off for several years but don't feel motivated by it anymore and from talking to a friend who does weight watchers have decided to join with my mummy and my first class is Thursday. Both me and my mum have a thyroid problem and I don't expect my weight loss to be huge but am hoping with WW that I will learn about portion control and stopping eating when I am full which I find I don't do on SW.

Well that's my little bio. I'm having a naughty few days before I start mainly because it TOTM and to get it out of my system. I suppose that's SW mentality as so many things are higher syns than WW which I think is more forgiving....well I hope so. Am getting excited planning my menus. Will get my one for Friday ready tomorrow and confirm it when I have been to the meeting.

Anyway enough waffle from me. Feel free to read and comment on my blog and point me in the right direction if I go wrong ;)

Hi there I'm new too! Just started today and I'm a little scared but determined to succeed.

I wish you all the luck in the world and you have great taste in men ;) hehe!

Lol thanks...although slightly concerned by how you know about my taste in men...or is it just because he has put up with me for so long ;)

Hi there,

I too have been slave to slimming world for several years but turned to the 'dark side' a few days ago also to try n get my portions in control as i started to only lose 1/2lb a week with sw n kept getting frustrated n diving for the chocolate. Starting To think sw is the dark side. I'm on day 4 today n am actually finding it alright, was worried I'd starve at first! Good luck with it n I'll keep an eye on your diary for support xx

Thanks. Are you doing a diary too? I'm so excited Thursday can't come quick enough. Hubby doesn't have much faith in me so determined to prove him wrong ;)

Ha these men eh! I've just started a diary tonight 'i won't be fat at thirty'. Im finding that I'm able to stick to this, think I'm too scared to go over my points whereas with SW if I wanted something to eat, I just ate it without thinking about the extra calories! You sound very positive and like you really want to do it so when your husband says you can't, just poke him in the eye ha x

who's Gosling then? lol - haven't a clue :)

We are roughly the same age with the same amount to lose. I chose WW over SW as i felt my portions were out of control and that SW isn't so easy going if u want to eat out etc. Though a lot of SW'ers take offence when i say that!

I'm totally with you on that one. Am out for dinner on Saturday for my hubby's birthday and am looking forward to some flexibility for a change. First meeting tonight and im really looking forward to it ;)

So this is it. Literally about to leave the house for my first meeting. Nervous about standing on their scales as feel like I have doubled my weight this week but am looking forward to my journey. Will come up with tomorrows menu when I am back. ;)

Thank you. Back from my first meeting. Really pleased as I weigh the same as when I left SW about 4 weeks ago and have had some really naughty days. Anyway I'm on 34pp a day so my first days menu looks like this:

Breakfast

Honey loops - 30g - 3pp
Skimmed milk - 1/2 or - 3pp
Fruit salad - 0pp

Lunch

2 x kingsmill pockets - 5pp
70g tuna - 2pp
Salad cream - 1pp - 15g
Salad - 0pp
Fruit salad
Ww yoghurt -1pp

Snacks (throughout the day)

Ww crisps - 2pp
Ww cookies - 2pp
Ww chocolate bar - 2pp
Ww sweets - 2pp

Dinner - either ready meal (about 10/11pp) or homemade pizza (has to be quick and easy tea)

War burton squares - 4pp
Passata, mushrooms, pineapple, peppers, onions, tomatoes -0pp
Ham - 30g - 1pp
Cheese - 40g - 5pp
Salad -0pp

33/34pp

How does that look? X

i have lost 4.5 stone with WW it's so much easier than SW IMO, as the portion control doesn't seem to come into play there. WW is perfect for eating out etc, i had 8 st to lose and shifted 4.5 no problem it's just after a yr i'm getting bored so a few months on extante is in order to give me a boost.

good luck xx

I'm loving the sound of those pizzas, need to make some of those! X

it's a vlcd like lighter life but alot cheaper, if you buy a month at a time it's £100 compared to LL £70 a week. i have a holiday in 4 months and need a boost as i bought a load of smaller clothes lol

Thanks for explaining. Had never heard of it. The pizza is yummy Lea. You cook it for about 10 minutes in the oven and I tend to fry my veg in fry light just because I prefer them a bit softer. ;)

Well first day didn't quite go to plan as hubby wanted to go out shopping and spend his birthday money so my day ended up like this

Breakfast

No time so Ww very berry cereal bar - 2pp
Fruit salad - 0pp (blueberries, grapes, melon, pineapple, strawberries, raspberries, kiwi)

Lunch

2 x kingsmill pockets - 5pp
70g tuna - 2pp
Salad cream - 1pp - 15g
Lettuce - 0pp

Snacks (throughout the day)

Banana, pear, plum, nectarine
I small dash of skimmed milk - 1pp
Ww cookies - 2pp
Ww sweets - 2pp
1 x white bread -2pp
I slice ham and cheese 3pp (counted cheese as 2 as was literally a thin slice)

Dinner - despite my good intentions ended up as 6 chicken nuggets and chips - I think that's 16pp.

Weekly pp = 2/49

Am out for dinner tomorrow night too as its his actual birthday then so think I will be saying bye bye to the rest of my weekly points

Here's my plan for tomorrow. It's hubby's birthday and he likes gypsy tart and not cake so can resist that easily enough. Downfall is going to be out for dinner and pudding. Here's my plan. I find if I write it on advance I feel I want to stick to it more:

Breakfast

Porridge (made with water) fruit -4pp

Lunch

Ww tomato soup - 2pp

Will snack on fruit throughout the day.

Dinner - we are out to a pub for a 3 course meal. I have asked around for some advice and a really good friend has pointed it for me so if I'm wrong please put me right;

Prawns in garlic :- eight king prawns is 2 points, the olive oil is four points for a tablespoon - 6

Fajitas - main normal tortilla wrap is four the chicken for a whole breast is six and the seasoning is all all spices - 10 to 14

Profiteroles - for wetherspoons own and ten of them with sauce is 15 and this is the highest I can find so if I have five - 8

will be driving so other drinking is not an issue but if I choose to have a guinness (it is st Patrick's day after all) or a coffee i can use them in my weekly or add any sauces I have.

Daily pp - 34/34
