Maria's back to it - 2014 food diary

I am back after the Christmas break and also after our first wedding anniversary (yesterday). Gained almost half a stone since the start of December. Not overly gutted about that as I am viewing this as a long haul lifestyle change and my aim is to lost the weight slowly, and to be at target by my birthday in March. I had lost over a stone since August but some weight has crept back on so I now have just under a stone to go to get below the 10st target.

Day one of being properly on track:
B - Brown toast with banana and cinnamon "jam" (lovely!)
L - Yoghurt and fruit (saving myself for tea time)
D - Homemade cheesy fish pie with broccoli and carrots, meringue nest, strawberries, blueberries and yogurt for afters.
S - WW hot choc
Milk for tea and coffee all day

26/26 - no weeklies

Day 2 - feeling good so far. I was 100% yesterday - very pleased as I thought I would struggle to ignore leftover Christmas biscuits etc. I have to face WI tomorrow (gulp):

B - Banana & yogurt
L - Ham & cheese triangle sandwich with beetroot and a basic salad, plus a Veg cup a soup
D - Cheesy fish pie (made yesterday) & veg
Snacks - tea & coffee, fruit plus a hot choc later

Hi maria - here to subscribe :wavey:

whats the cinnamon jam??? xx

Thanks for subscribing peeps.
Sarah - the banana and cinnamon "jam" is just a banana mashed up with half a teaspoon of maple syrup or honey and about half a teaspoon of cinnamon. I am a carb lover so I love this kind of stuff. I usually spread it over three slices of WW/nimble bread and with a cup of coffee it does the trick for me.

You could leave the honey/syrup out and maybe just add a very small drop of warm water to make the banana easier to mash. Can you have a bit of artificial sweetener such as splenda? Would consider that just to sweeten it up a bit. If not, it's just the banana and cinnamon!

having it tomorrow yummy cannot wait xx

So, I went to my first WW class of the New Year and I am 3lb up since before Christmas. Absolutely fine with that. We were also talked through the SS plan, which does look good. However, having tried Slimming World and not lost, I am a bit apprehensive about giving it a go. I suppose I just have to remember to eat only when I need to, not when I fancy it!

So, Day 3 -
B - Weetabix, skimmed milk, large banana (chopped on top) (4)
L - Ham, cheese, beetroot and salad sandwiches (x3 halves) on WW brown bread (6)
D - Salmon fillet, baby potatoes, carrots, broccoli and remainder of the Xmas sprouts, topped with parsley sauce (11)
S - Hot chocolate or skinny latte (1)
Snacks - Yogurts x 2 (3), fruit, tea and coffee (2)

26/26 Dailies, 0 Weeklies.

I really thought it would be a struggle getting back on it but so far so good - no serious cravings!

I was going to start tomorrow but the husband arrived home with a ruck of fat free fruit yogurts and the like. I will stick to PP's until all that has gone and then give SS a go. x

Thanks for subscribing Tiger Lilly.

So, Day 4 and things are still going ok. I went for a jog at lunchtime but had to stop after 20 minutes due to hip pain, headache and general discomfort. Foodwise, my day is mapped out like this:
B - Skinny latte & banana (2)
L - Ham & cheese sandwich, loads of beetroot (getting addicted to the lovely juicy stuff) and a salad. WW Coconut yogurt (very nice) (8)
D - Sea bass in spicy crust with coconut and lemongrass sauce (shop bought) with potatoes, carrots and broccoli (9) with meringue, yogurt and fruit (3)
Snacks - Tea and coffee (2)

So far 24/26 dailies, 0 weeklies. Will probably have a hot choc or something to use up the last 2 points.

Yesterday went slightly awry when I got home. Husband and I were starving so shared half a pitta with salad and a smidge of chicken and I also ate his dessert because he didn't like the 0% greek yogurt. I ended up having 4 of my weeklies which is fine because I know I should be eating more of them. I try to save them for days when I just need more food.

So day 5 is planning to be:
B- WW layered fromage frais, cup of coffee, apple (2)
L - Ham & cheese sandwich, lots of beetroot, salad, light choices vegetable cup a soup (fed of this lunch now - will plan something different for next week)
D - Chilli, brown rice, salad. Dessert will be greek yogurt, berries, meringue.
Snacks - fruit, tea and coffee, hot chocolate.

26/26. O weeklies (so far)
