My 2015 foody feast - 2st to lever off!

I like reading other people's food diaries to discover some great ideas. Today was day 1 for me and I am trying the F&H plan to help take the sting away from the New Year austerity after the Christmas gluttony. This is how it went:

B - Porridge (35g) made with 50/50 skimmed milk & water, small banana and blueberries over the top, skinny latte.
L - 2 crumpets with another small mashed banana & cinnamon (one of my faves).
D - Chicken jalfrezi (WW recipe) with brown rice (50g).
Snacks - tea and coffee with skimmed milk plus about 4 clementines.

I think I have done F&H correctly but even if I have made a mistake, it still has to be better than gorging on chocs, mince pies and other naughties that were in the house!

I have just got some sugar free jelly on the go for tomorrow which I will have with some tinned (drained) fruit cocktail.

Hi I just joined ww online so looking for inspiration. You menu looks fab!

Hello ladies.
I have to say, today's menu was decent and I didn't think about food too much because I was busy clearing out after the Christmas mayhem. Let's see how I get on when I get back to work....!!
Homemade soups with a small sandwich work well for me so I will have to pull my finger out and get cooking. I am trying to cut down on all the sweet stuff too.
Looking forward to talking to you both again.

Morning all

Our office is officially closed today but I have had to come in to get some year-end work done so I am all alone-y-0, which means I can have a little look at the forum before I get going.

Claire - thanks for confirming yesterdays choices looked ok, I usually do PP for the flexibility so F&H is slightly unfamiliar to me. I am trying hard to save my weeklies because I have a charity dinner to go to on Saturday so I am keeping them as my safety net.

My day is going to be very similar to yesterday:

B - Porridge, blueberries and small banana (just had it - lovely!)
L - Chicken jalfrezi and brown rice (leftovers from last night)
D - Salmon fillet, panfried. With baby potatoes which I boil first and then brown in the frying pan (in the oil from the salmon), with carrots, broccoli and green beans. Afters, if needed, will be strawberry jelly with fruit cocktail.
Supper - 2 crumpets, topped with mashed banana and cinnamon (delightful).
Snacks - Skimmed milk for coffee & tea plus 4 clementines.

I feel very positive today so I am sending some of this positivity your way...absorb and enjoy!

Day 2 has been a success so far. I have stuck to the plan and I am just going to finish my foodfest off with a nice cup of warm (skimmed) milk with nutmeg grated over it.

I am just thinking about tomorrow's menu (day 3) and I was thinking of having another F&H day. I tend to suffer from cravings on day 3 so I am going to really fill myself up. I think I will have:

B - Turkey rashers (not sure if F&H but v low in fat so I am assuming they are ok), mushrooms simmered in stock, poached egg, baked beans & nimble toast.
L - Jacket potato, potato scooped out and mixed with tuna and spring onions, warmed through and served with a salad.
D - Chicken marinated in fat-free natural yogurt and spices then grilled with peppers on skewers with a portion of brown rice and a tomato and onion salad.
Supper - Crumpets and cherry "jam" woo-hoo!

Yes, I like the sound of that little lot. I'd best go and get some chicken out of the freezer....

Today's the day the Christmas deccies came down and got packed up for another year - Yaaayyyyy!!! Needles, glitter and bits all hoovered up, just waiting for my chicken skewers to finish grilling. There were a couple of tweaks to today's list as we went for Day 1 of Couch to 5k which I have re-started so we got in late and had brunch instead of breakfast. The day went like this.

B - Turkey rashers mushrooms simmered in stock, poached egg, baked beans, grilled tomato & nimble toast.
L - Petit pain with ham, tomato and lettuce.
D - Chicken marinated in fat-free natural yogurt and spices then grilled with peppers on skewers with a portion of brown rice roasted veg (sweet potato, courgette, mushroom, peppers and garlic.
Supper - Crumpets and cherry "jam" still a woo-hoo!

Mmm making me feel hungry your tea sounds lovely xx

I have just finished it and it was soooo tasty. All the roasted veg really bulked out the rice too. It was so successful that Husband wants it next week to take to work.
