Hi,
Ive searched everywhere on the WW site and other sources on the net and just cant find the values for a portion of chicken chow mein from the chinese, does anyone know please?

got the new eating out guide -

chicken chow mein isn't listed but a special chow mein is 9pp and a mushroom chowmein is 6pp. I would imagine that it would be similar pp to the special chow mein.

I always opt for a mushroom chow mein when we order chinese, and one sweet & sour chicken ball!

if you have WW online it gives you a ProPoints recipe for making your own chicken balls (chinese style!) :)

My friend told me chicken chow mein was 6 in the eating out guide but on the guide on the WW site it is 5PP. Maybe just use the highest value but would like to know why there is a difference.

i've searched everywhere on the site and chicken chow mein from the chinese is not listed! asked around and others say it's not also, they said like SarahB has said that the mushroom is 6pp and special 9pp therefore to point the chicken one around 7pp/8pp

just thought seeing as mushroom chow mein is 6pp and mushrooms are zero, then a plain chow mein must also be 6pp! :D sorry bit slow ha :p

thanks, think i will pp it as 8. Have just read in the eating out guide that a portion of sweet and sour chicken balls is 13 pp so divided by 3 of us should work out at 4 pp per serving.
Thats my chinese treat sorted for tomorrow then ,1 portion of chicken chow mein =8pp and 1/4 portion of chicken balls =4pp
nice treat for 12 pp!
lets see if i can fiqure out the pp for bbq sauce now........................ lol

oh wow! chicken balls only 13pp! that's amazing!!! does it still not give chicken chow mein in eating out guide either hun?

I never know how much a portion is. Is it everything they give you, or is that supposed to serve x people and so the number of points is for that divided by x. Same with chicken balls.

Yer I was unsure about the portion sizes too, I was told that a portion of chicken balls was 3/4 and that was 13 PP just for that not for the whole bag. Not sure though. Also is 8PP for chicken chow mein for the whole tub or just half?

it is confusing isnt it, wish they would make it clearer lol
This is what it says at the front of the eating out book, but i still dont think it makes it much clearer!

" The PROPOINTS values listed for the items are 'as served' that is as it is described on the menu, unless otherwise stated."

oh well, i was eating a chicken chow mein and 3 chicken balls on the discovery plan and still losing weight every week, so i shall carry on, just a shame we cant be sure about the pp :sigh:
