Restarting WW old points system

Hi guys,

New & apprehensive

Having previously been successful with WW I've decided to return to it to try & lose the 2st 9lb. My goal is by the summer so that I can actually enjoy & make the most of it & to stop hating myself.

I had baby number 4 in January of this year and when I gave birth I was 15st, the heaviest but now I'm 12st 1.4lb when I weighed myself this morning. I'm really hoping joining in here will give me the kick I need to lose the rest of the weight! x

Hi katniss and welcome to the vintage board.

I'm sure you'll do great, hopefully there'll be peeps around regularly to chat to, it can be very quiet!

When do you plan to start? I need to get my act together and sorry out my eating. I'm going to weigh and assess tomorrow though will probably start next week.

Hi Katniss

I restarted on vintage points yesterday. I'm wanting to lose 4st so I'm deffo with you to start ditching the fat.

Welcome to vintage points! Hopefully this part will pick up again with a bit of a push from us all! When I first used the site years ago it was always buzzing! Now that people have their resolutions we might be able to kick start it and share the motivation!

Hello,
I am new to this site but not to vintage WW plan which i once used to loose 3 stone. keen to get started again but don't have a point food list, does nayone have this or can send me to a site so i can down load? Also are points still sat fat /4 + calorises /70?

thanks

Hi Annalisalud and welcome to the Vintage board!

The calculation is indeed calories/70 and Sat fats/4 (or fats/2 if you don't have the sat fat value). I'd definitely consider having a look to see if you can find any of the points books second hand, you could get the Shop guide (for the main list of points) and the Eat Out guide for take aways and restaurants really cheaply. However, while you are waiting here is a basic list and one for eating out plus a list I put together a while back for a friend - it's what she ate, but should give you a bit of a start:

What are your goals?? Do feel free to post on our daily chat thread called 'The Check-In Point'. It's really quiet on the board at the moment, I'd love for it to perk it up a bit and get some conversations going :) I love having new peeps to chat to! Tell us how you're getting on!

HI Hules,
Many many thanks this is very useful, i have now saved down on my desktop. I am aiming to losse 12lbs, not much i know but it's going to be hard work. I am off to Costa Rica in Feburary and need to be in a bekini so if i can loose 6lbs by then i will feel a lot better about myself. This all kicks off on january 1st so wish me luck!

Hi again guys,

Thanks for such a kind welcome. I do hope this part of the forum picks up. I'm starting the plan on Friday as I'll be going shopping and buying lots of healthy bits x

It will pick up! Hules and I are usually on at least once on a normal day. Now there's a few of us we should be able to keep it going :)

Hi Katniss, I can totally relate to your post because i am in a near identical situation.I had a baby last yr and now weigh exactly the same weight as you :). The heaviest i have ever been for my 5ft 4 frame. The old weight watchers points worked very well for me before, so am going to aim for a 35 lb weight loss too.If i could achieve that in 6 mths i would be thrilled. I felt so miserable on my hols in Portugal last year i can't face another Summer like it. It would be great to be a support to each other. I have an under-active thyroid since having my baby so am praying it won't interfere with my weight loss. Have done the weigh in today so am starting tomorrow. Here goes lol.... x

Good luck to you, savinac!

Hi savinac and welcome to the vintage board too! Good luck for your first day ladies! You can do it!
A holiday is a great incentive. I cycled round Guernsey on a little folder bike and whilst I loved the experience, boy, did I feel plump. Looking back on my photos I wasn't so bad, but at the time... Now i reckon I'm nearly a some heavier, gawd! I've got to get a grip! With company on the board we can do this!

We can do it ladies! i have the problem of being dairy free which means i struggle with breakfast as fat free yogurts are a not go, i do miss the fat free total greek with a teaspoon of honey and a banana... sigh!

anway thought i would share a recipie with you which i made last night and was delicious. This serves 2 and is a cheap heaty unusual meal
Chilli Clam Pasta
Take one tin of top quality chopped tomatoes (0pts), one tin of tinned clams (john west)(2pts), a clove of garlic (chopped)(0pts), spinach (fresh or frozen)(0pts), chilli flakes(0pts), one rasher of bacon (fat removed very finely chopped)(1.5pts),.
Fry the garlic and bacon in a pan, add the chopped toms and chilli flakes and season to taste, simmer untill thick.
Boil 60g of pasta per person (3pts),. Once cooked drain. Add the clams and spinach to the tomato sace, heat untill boiling. add the pasta, stir and serve
Works out at 4.5 points per bowl and i was stuffed! you could always add extra veggies to spread futher.

I have a holiday on 49 days not and need to be slimmer!

Ooohhh nice, that sounds exactly my type of tea! Hmm, I think we need a recipe thread! Annalisalud, if I start one on the main vintage board could you please post this recipe in there too? (*off to start one...:p)

Thank's for the support girl's. I did a big shop today so am all prepared ! So far so good. It would be super if we did an odd food diary entry for ideas, and also to make sure we newbies are pointing correctly.Haven't even thought about exercise yet but as soon as i get four weeks behind me i am ready to to get going lol... x

Hey, everyone, as was previously posted by Hules, would you like to join us on the 'check-in point' thread? It keeps everything in one place and people seem to post more when there is a 'really active' thread as opposed to one with just a few, if you get me? I think people are more likely to post. Come on over! Also, I'm going to check out that recipe thread. There was one ages ago but I think we need to get a fresh one started with new ideas!

Hi everyone :)

I've had two fab days of staying on track, even managed to save a point today lol Feeling really together and focused. I think its helped because I've sat and done a 4 week food plan so I can just rotate it. Means I'm not going to get bored and I know where I am foodwise.

How's everyone else doing?

Lisa x x x

Thanks lovely x
