March check-in

Thought we could do a monthly thread where people check-in, report losses, report gains and just chat!!

I'm motivated today as have just learned that a friend has lost 2 stone and I have probably put it all on!!!

So I've bought in salad stuff, snacks and everything. Today I've made a conscious effort to drink more water and have even measured out my skimmed milk.

The plan for today is to drink more water, stick to play and maybe, just maybe, go back to WW for weigh-ins only. I'm still not sure though and quite frankly would rather put £6.25 in a jar each week

Well I decided to go back to meetings. So I'll change my signature. Sigh ...

Isn't this vintage points though, so is there much point in going to a meeting? Anyhows good luck.

I'm on my second week of vintage point counting. Did well the first week (lost 4lbs) and sticking to it this week without too much hardship. Not sure how long this will last though. As long as I let myself have a bit of a treat at the weekend (i.e. wine), I'm usually okay.

Yes you are right. It is vintage points and that's what I'm following so I'm going to meetings for weigh and go only. It is on my street so really handy and I'd like the discipline of a formal weigh-in.

Well done on your 4lb loss. That's a brilliant loss.

I'm doing old points, have cancelled my mp on ww, I do need the dicipline of going to a meeting tho, I'm thinking of going sw to be weighed as my friend goes & at 4.95 a wk its cheaper than ww x

It is a good way to keep at it as you have to keep focussed on the weekly weigh-in. I don't think it matters which provider you go to and if I could find a cheaper one i would go to that!

Finished yesterday on 20/20. Feeling quite hungry at the moment though.

I finished yesterday at 21 points, but I did 1 hour's walking so that was 2.5, so actually saved 1.5 points.

Wouldn't say I'm struggling yet, but I was a bit hungry in the evening yesterday. I can cope with being hungry in the morning as I have lunch to look forward, but when I'm hungry after dinner, there's only bed to look forward to!

This is week 2 and sticking to my points (mainly) so far. I'm in the zone at the moment, just hope it lasts longer than it normally does.

As long as I can have a few glasses of wine at the weekend, I seem to be able to cope with staying good during the week.

When are your weigh in days? Mine is a Monday.

Ps. Last night I worked out all the points for the Tesco Value Microwave Meals as I've started eating these in the evening if I'm in a rush. I find it also helps with portion control. If I eat what my mum cooks (she minds my children while I'm at work and I get in around dinner time), then I would eat way too much.

Although my favourite meals at the moment seem to be chicken stirfry which is 8 points or pasta and ham with cheese sauce (6points).

Pollyanna, well done on a great walk. Do you have a pedometer which works our your activity points? Or do you just work it out yourself based on distance/time?

The list you give for Tesco meals is great. It's so handy to have them to hand like you say, and if you are starving you know they will be ready in a few minutes. It certainly sounds like you are in the zone! How much are you wanting to lose?

My weigh in day is Tuesday, at 6.30 pm unfortunately!!! I don't really like evening weigh-ins but don't have an option of morning weigh-ins at the moment.

Can't remember where I got the points for my hour's walk. I do it every day when I work. 15mins to the train station, then on the other side of my journey, 15mins from the tube station to work. And then I have to do it again on the way home!

Think I found the points on the internet. I work it to be 70calories burned = 1 point. Not sure how accurate that is, but hey ho.

I only have about a stone to lose. Just feeling a bit sluggish and don't want things to get out of hand. I feel more comfortable in my clothes when I'm a stone lighter. And I have my brother's wedding later in the year and I don't want to a frumpy mummy when my little girls are dressed in their amazing dresses.

I weigh in myself on a Monday morning (first thing, naked, haha) as I can't part with the money to go to a class. I'm too tight for words!

I honestly don't blame you, Pollyanna! I can't tell you how much I begrudge spending the money just to get weighed but I'm viewing it as my punishment for letting my eating get out of hand. I only have myself to blame so I want to get my weight down, throw out all of my bigger sizes and never, ever get to this weight again. I've tried to do it by myself but the pounds just crept on.

You'll get rid of that stone in no time at all.

What was your dinner tonight? I've just had a tuna salad tonight. But I've bought in red cabbage and red onions to make my favourite WW recipe - red cabbage chutney.

Finishing the day on 16.5/20. Pleased with that as I might want them at the weekend.

I had haddock (1.5p) with a jacket potato (3.5p) with light phili on it (2.5). Bunged a load of butternut squash chips and carrots (0p) in as well. How's about you?

I had 3.5 points spare as well, but some of these were from walking. I struggled a bit yesterday. I really wanted a glass of wine, but nope I was good. I will see this as a diet, but also a lifestyle change. If I can behave during the week, then I will treat myself to wine at the weekend. Wine is my downfall on any diet!

You were good!!! Your dinner sounds lovely. I just had a quick tuna salad but it was very filling.

Not long to go until you can have your wine fix!

20/20 today. Feel quite hungry still so will have to go to bed!

Did you go to bed and not eat any more danders?

Yesterday was my treat day (well the whole weekend, I slack a bit) and had wine! It really is my downfall. Dinner was cottage pie (a ready meal) for 4.5 points and bns chips for 0 points. Which was really hard as my mum had bought chip shop chips for my girls. And they didn't eat them. My children are strange in that they don't like burgers or pizza either!

Then 3 glasses of wine and 4 shots of vodka eek which was 9 points. I completely know they are wasted calories, but I never think that at the time!

Today was hungry because of drinking, but resisted and went to mums for dinner. It's her who commented that I need to lose a few pounds and so she is supporting me on the diet. She made a ww recipe of quorn and butternut squash. Although I'm pretty much butternut squashed out, it was really tasty and only 3.5 for the meal. Quorn fillets are lovely, so go a look up recipes for them, can't believe how low in points they are.

Hi Pollyanna

Sounds like you have had a fab weekend and if having some wine and vodka gets you through it then so be it!

How fab is your mum?!! It's great that she's supporting you and making you lovely meals too.

I'm doing great. Still in the zone and have stuck to my points. I feel so much better for it too.

Hi guys I'm new to this thread, really want to go back to the old ww plan I lost 2 stone on it before my wedding in 2011 and it's the only diet that really worked for me. Not a fan of the new ww system and have recently been doing slimming world but just found my losses really small so back to this I think although I haven't got any of the books anymore apart from the starter pack so I'm going to use the sheet in there to work out points of things as there doesn't seem to be any apps for your phone anymore. I'm aloud 18 points a day which seems scary to me and just know I'm going to be hungry! Fingers crossed I can get back into the swing of things. It's been a while but I need to lose this last stone after having my son and I really want my hubby to do this with me too as it's what worked for him last time and since he has put on about 3 stone so he wants to shift most of that. X wish us luck!
