    Puggso_32 - Plodding along

    First of all...a quick introduction.

My names Stephen, I'm 23, I work in finance, I play the bagpipes and also drum kit and I have had a long diary here

I have also had diaries around here before that.

    So here's the back story, with the odd picture along the way (I don't really have many of just me so other people are floating around in them too);

September 2007 I was at my heaviest ever. Weighing in first thing in the morning, on scales I have now found out weighed a lot lighter than they should have, when I decided to change I came in at 16 stone* bang on the button (now I think that could have been much higher) and looked like this

I first started just healthy eating with no real structure and got down to 14 and a half stone* then hit a massive plateau.

It was at this point I went on to Tesco's meal replacement shakes and worked away at that until I got down to about 13 stone* and looked like this

At some point I couldn't take the lack of food any more and decided to start calorie counting. This got me down to 11 stone* right up until when the scales suddenly went to 9 stone* one morning and I quickly changed them and realised I was closer to 12 stone 4 pounds^ looking like this

I kept at about this over the summer...not really ever sure what my real weight was.

A few months back a mate of mine decided she wasn't too happy with her body and was considering weight watchers. I had flirted briefly with it in my early teens when I went with my mum but my heart was not in it and I didn't really care (as I was about 13!). But this meant I had a grounding of knowledge in how it worked. I knew this could be the boot up the backside I needed to finally get back on track and get working at dropping the rest of my weight seriously.

I started 5 weeks (4 weigh-ins ago) and it has been an utter revelation to me. Everything clicks in to place, it all makes sense and I know how to go about it.

I am a well planned out individual in most aspects of my life so have put it to this. I know what I am doing over the course of a week so that nothing ever surprises me. If I have a night out coming up, I save for it and walk to earn the points needed. If I know I can't avoid eating something that is high in points I work everything else around it. I buy my lunches for work on a Sunday and don't take money with me so I am not tempted.

I have lost 1 stone in 4 weeks, my signature shows how that has been broken down.

So here I am, finally moving myself in to the correct sub-forum for me. This place seems like the meetings I go to. Very little in the way of guys, but everyone still seems supportive and friendly. And I want to be a part of that.

So this is me as of that weekend just past

Don't let it fool you. I may be 11st 12lbs but I am only 5 foot 2 in height so there is a way to go yet before I get to a healthy weight.

Welcome aboard my slightly absurd life,

    Stephen

*Using the now known to be broken scales
^Using the newer but tesco value scales

If you start being sensible I'm leaving the website, saying goodbye to my loved ones and then waiting on the 4 horsemen arriving

    welcome

i have a question, do you want a welcome hug? *welcome hug*

    if not, too late

you look great, regardless of your weight - well done on your loss - i mean this in the nicest way possible but looking at your starting photo i wouldve said you were bigger than 16st so you've done amazingly to get to where you are now - you dont even look like the same person!

however, i did quite like the curly hair.. did it go for any particular reason?

Well I guess I'm gonna have to take that hug eh!

I think I was too...but as I said, seems I had problems with my scales I never knew about!

The hair went as my hair line decided to start heading a wee bit and it looked a tad silly. I prefer it shaven, dries quicker
