Everyone else has got one... so now it's my turn

elfy1807

(Will)PowerPuff Girl
Hey.
I'm elfy1807, otherwise known as Emma.
I'm 23 and I'm on WW propoints.

Everyone else has got a diary, some are food diaries, but I keep my food logged in my WW journal rather than online.
I'm not brilliant at keeping blogs/journals/diaries online, but I'm gonna give this one a go.
I'm a little obsessed with this site, so I'd imagine I shouldn't have a problem keeping updated.

I've weighed between 12.5 and 13 stone for as long as I can remember.
And last April I went away with some friends to Cornwall, and there was a photo taken of us all, and I look absolutely hideous in it (I'll try and find it somewhere at some point).
It was then that I decided that something had to change.
So I immediately went out and bought a new bike (mine had been stolen about 6 months before) and started cycling, and tried SW with my mum. She does it from home, and had lost about 3 or 4 stone in about 6 months or so, so I thought I'd give it a go.
Then the summer came, and it was far too hot to be cycling (or so was my excuse). Then the autumn and winter came and it was too cold or too raint to cycle. So my bike got unused.
Spring 2013 and I made a pact with my bf (get used to hearing about him - I'm very happy with him, he's a massive support to me although won't take any credit for it, says it's all me, and I tend to brag about how amazing he is - sorry about that, but at least I warned you :D) that I bike 25 miles a week.

Well that was fine. I like a good challenge. I was still doing SW, sort of, but you know, Christmas had happened, and I thought sod it, I'll start again in the new year. Except I'm not a great veg lover, and I don't like rice or couscous, so I was constantly living on jacket potatoes & pasta. Don't get me wrong, I love both of those, but it was all I was eating and it was getting boring & repetitive. I just wanted chicken nuggets & chips. And I love love love bread, and limiting that wasn't fun.
So the food wasn't really working for me, so even though I was biking 25 miles a week, nothing was happening.

Then, at the end of March, my mum suggested I try something different, like a calorie counting program, and that's when it hit me - Weight Watchers. My cousin had been doing it for a year and had lost a good amount, she'd know all the details, I'd ask her, and try it from home.

So I started. Stocked up on some WW meals (because I live off convenience food anyway - I'm too impatient to hang around waiting for a meal to be cooked, and cuz they were cheap in my local freezer shop), got some WW snacks and had a go at it.
At the same time, I joined the local gym (something I never thought I'd do - and I go first thing in the morning - something else I never thought I'd do. Getting up early for the gym?!?! No way. I like my bed and being lazy FAR too much.) and am now absolutely obsessed with being down there and doing a nice morning workout then some classes in the evening.
I also joined this site and haven't looked back since.

Anyway, gave it a go for a week at home and got on alright. Lost 2lbs according to my scales. Then mum suggested I go to a meeting, get all the info, and then if I don't want to go back, then I don't have to. And that was my plan. To go, get weighed, get the info and the free gift and never go back. Well, this coming thursday will be my 7th meeting haha. Can't get enough of that either.
The meeting scales put me at 1lb above what I'd weighed myself that week (so I'd lost 1lb altogether).

Since then I have lost 14.5lbs in 5 weeks, and have also lost my 5% body weight and am close to my 10%.
I've also lost a total of 26cm from various parts of my body and my body fat percentage has gone down from 39% to 31.3%.
So WW is definitely working for me.

I enjoy the food, I enjoy the exercise. My days now though revolve around what I'm going to eat and when, and fitting in exercising.
I'm sure I bore people to death keep talking about it, but they say they don't mind.

I'm currently 11st4.5lbs, on 26pp a day, with a goal of 10st.
I can't remember the last time I weighed in the 11s, and definitely not in the 10s, but I'm so looking forward to being there.

I've set up this diary so I can ramble about how my day has been, any struggles I've had, not necessarily about what I've eaten that day, unless I've had something really interesting or really naughty, and also to update my weight.
It's also so I can stop writing essays on the food diaries I follow, and if they want to read them, then they can come here and read them, and not be forced to read them on their pages haha.

I think that's everything for now.
If you've got any questions about me, my food, my exercising, my life, anything at all, or want to buddy up, feel free to leave a comment.
I hope I haven't bored you too much, and well done if you got this far.

Also, I'm not advertising this diary - I'm gonna see how long it takes UKSerena to find it.
Cuz I know she will.
She's a minimins fiend and she can sniff out a new thread like a bloodhound
Love you sweetie haha ;)
Go check out her diary too.

Adios amigos.
Until next time.
But for now, I need to go get some dinner.
x

Well, what a day.
Firstly, really didn't want to get out of bed this morning.
But once I did got up, had my weetabix for breakfast & headed to the gym.

My gym instructor changed my routine on Saturday, so today was day 2 of my new routine. And it's a tough one.
My old one involved 20-30 minutes of cardio, followed by some resistance & then some mat work for my abs.
Now I have 50 minutes of cardio and then abs work.
It takes me about 1 hour 15 altogether and I definitely felt it in my thighs today.

Headed to work for 930, was there til 530, then straight back to the gym for an hour of Body Tone at 6 followed by an hour of Body Combat at 7. Really enjoying Body Combat. Only my second class, but I like it. I felt it in my arms last week, but next day muscle aches means that I was doing something right.

So now I'm home and in my jammies, chilling out.

Weigh in day tomorrow, and I would really like to lose 2.5lbs, as that would mean I've made it to my 10% weight loss at my WW meeting and then the final goal will be goal. But as long as I lose tomorrow, whatever the number, I'll be happy.
I've earned 82 activity points this week, 30 of those from today alone.
Madness.
Ah well...
I've got a few more points left for today, gonna grab a WW cake and maybe some ice cream, then will soon be bedtime, ready to start all over again tomorrow.

I'm here to keep an eye on you Sweetie ;-) x PS-the reason I didn't find this last night is cos I was too busy scoffing the 6pp Kebab! PPS-I'm still the first person to find it, Whoop Whoop! X

Had such a brilliant day.
Started off with a bit of a lie in - always good when that happens.
Instead of getting up at 7, I got up at 815 instead. Woo. Haha.
Anyway, headed to the gym, got some really good news from a friend.
Then headed to my weight watchers meeting.
I lost 2.5lbs which I was so thrilled about.
A) Because I usually lose 2lbs, so an extra .5 of a pound is always great, and B) Because last week I was just 2.5lbs away from hitting my 10% weight at meeting, meaning I hit it today.
YAY!!!
Also, I knew that reaching goal weight meant attending meetings for free, but I didn't realise, and I don't know if this is at all meetings, so don't take what I say as a guarantee, but I was told by my leader that because I'd hit 10%, it meant I could pay monthly for just £10 a month.
I've currently been paying weekly, at £5.50 a week, so to get a whole month's worth of meetings for less than 2 weeks was a no brainer.
So I definitely signed up.
All I've got left at meeting to do now is hit my 10st goal. Obvs there's other milestones in there, like 1.5st loss & 2st loss, but that's it.
I have also lost more weight than I've got left to lose.
Over halfway.
Woo!!
Then headed to work, and on my way I'm pretty sure I saw an eagle. We have red kites in the area I live, but I don't think it was one of those. It was absolutely mahusive. I mean, it might've been a red kite, but it was so big, and because I'm having a good day, I'm saying it was an eagle. So there! Haha.
Work was ok, went quickly, by the time I went on lunch it was half 2 and I finished at half 5. It's nice having a late lunch because after lunch is always the time people don't want to do much work haha.
Then straight home and down the gym for Zumba.
Absolutely loving Zumba. I do two classes a week (as long as they're running and haven't been cancelled for reasons such as illness or holidays).
Now about to go grab some food and go see my bestie.
She's having a rough day, so off to cheer her up.
Have a good evening guys.

Also, yay! Serena. You found me =D haha

Nothing huge to report on today.

Was a little naughty last night as my friend's house.
Her mum had made a cake and I couldn't resist a little slither as her cakes are delicious.
I have no idea how much to point it as, so I decided to, what I hope was a huge over estimate, was to point it as 10pp and take it from the 20 activity points I earned yesterday.
A good start... day 1 of a new week and I'm already eating cake.
Oops.
Ah well... I ate the cake and it satisfied the craving. Usually if I eat a bit of cake (or anything delish really - chips, sweets, biscuits), I'll want more, but that was plenty.

Went shopping with my mum to Morrisons this evening and she got 2 of those HUGE (and so delightfully tasty) birthday cakes, the type that all the stores have, with the soft icing and the gorgeous jam & buttercream in the middle, reduced from like £8 to just 55p.
It's so hard knowing they're sitting in the house, but one's going to my grandma's house tomorrow for them. The other is staying here for my sister to eat.
However, I'm not planning on being in the house this weekend.

As my bestie has had a rough week, me & 2 other friends have decided to go down to the local seaside tomorrow for the night, where their parents (they're cousins) own a static caravan, and hoping bestie will join us.
It's not much, but the weather is supposed to be good, and it'll be nice to get away for a night.
However, this means yet another trip to the seaside, and yet another test of my willpower (which apparently is lacking atm after the cake incident haha, although I have stuck to points today) to avoid the fish & chips AGAIN.
But I did it twice last weekend, so I'm sure it shouldn't be a problem *fingers crossed*

Gym was tough this morning, didn't want to get up (couldn't sleep very well last night - usually on a Thursday night I stay at my boyfriend's, but stayed home last night after seeing the bestie, and was tossing and turning, struggling to sleep. Whether it's because it's been my routine to be next to him on a Thursday for the last 6 months and last night he wasn't there so I couldn't sleep, I don't know, but was very tired when my alarm went off).
Long day at work, hungry quite a lot today, and then home, had food, then shopping.
Then tonight just chilled watching tele and the such.

Got 134 steps to take before hitting another point today.
Gonna go do that and then head to bed before I go binging.

Not much to say today.
Went to Zumba this morning, was completely uncoordinated, couldn't get my feet and hips to do the right thing.
Didn't fall over though, which is what I did a couple of weeks ago.

As mentioned yesterday, I'm down at the seaside in my friends' caravan for the night. Came down mid afternoon, had a wander towards the promenade, played on the 2p machines and the other machines that spit out tickets (I've got just over 200, not sure how many the others have got, but haven't cashed them in yet as may be heading back tomorrow before coming home).
I'm always seeming to spend a fortune in the arcades ATM because I'm just really enjoying being young again.
Then we went on the waltzers before going to get some dollar. The others went to get fish & chips, but I resisted and stayed outside the chip shop.
Then got back to the caravan, where they ate their fish & chips and I cooked my ww chicken hotpot.
Waa hard watching them eat theirs, but I did it. Because the chicken hotpot was so low in points (6), I still had 9 points left, so have just had a bunch of snacks whilst watching the voice.
We're gonna watch Cocktail once that's finished. I love Cocktail. It's one of my favourite films ever, but none of these lot has ever seen it.
Shocker.

Plan for tomorrow I think it more arcades, then we were told about a water-ski race going on about lunchtime, so may go watch that, which will be quite cool, then head home early afternoon.
Not a long stay, but nice to get away for a little bit. And such a cheap night away because didn't have to pay for accommodation haha.

Hope everyone's well
x

Hey Sweetie :) I'm back and just catching up on everyone's diaries! Sounds as though you are having a fab tim at the Seaside and well done on your 2.5lb loss, that's FAB! Was that using your Weeklies/Activiteies or just sticking to your dailies? X

Thanks.
It was just using my dailies. I don't use my weeklies and using my activities is a very rare occurrence (although happened on Thursday haha).
I've just changed my gym routine to more cardio, so I think that's possibly why I got the slightly bigger loss.
Yeah, it's been a nice day and about to play snakes and ladders. Haven't played that in forever!!
x

I love Snakes and Ladders, Poppy has the 3D Version! PS-I can't wait to get the all clear from the Physio so I can exercise again, even if its only an exercise DVD at home or a Weekly Swim it will be better than nothing! X

3d snakes and ladders?! Wowzers!! Never heard of that before. I wanna play it.
I won the game last night. Yay me! Haha

Yeah, I hope you get the all clear very soon so you can get active. Especially as the nice weather is on it's way, you can take poppy out for bike rides and walks and stuff like that too.
Hope you have a good day x

Well Done on winning! Poppy loves board games, she has over 50 now, sometimes if its a rainy day we just sit and play our way through all of them,it's so much fun! Hope you have a lovely Sunday. X

My favourite board game is Cluedo.
It's gorgeous here at the seaside today, so looking forward to a nice walk towards the beach before heading home.
Been really nice to get away

We so have to have a Minimin Holiday with lots of board games and low pp snacks! Which beach are you at Sweetie? Don't think you mentioned the name in your posts. X

We went to Hunstanton. It's the closest seaside to where I live, only an hour's drive.
Home now and heading to a nearby town to their outlet centre. My friend wants some bits and pieces and I thought I'd tag along for a ride.

Don't spend too much Sweetie! X

I spent a total of £8.99.
£8.99 more than I was planning on spending, but I couldn't resist. However, I'm about to blog about my day so you'll read all about it in a bit =)

Soooooooo... just got back from a lovely 24 hours at the seaside with my friends.
We went to Hunstanton, as my friends' parents own a caravan there.
Last night went to the amusements, the beach, played snakes & ladders & watched Cocktail.
I fell asleep watching the film, but I've seen it before so I wasn't too fussed.
It is one of my fave movies though.
Anyway, slept really well and woke up to glorious sunshine.
This could only mean one thing - shorts!!
We had breakfast, got packed up so that there wasn't much to do when we got back, and went down to the amusements.

I already had just over 200 tickets from last night.
However, there was a machine, that required a bit of timing to win the jackpot.
You pull the lever, the light spins round and all you have to do it stop it on one of the three jackpot lights.
I knew damn well my boyfriend would've done it, as he did it 3 times on a similar machine in Skegness May Day bank holiday Monday.
Last night I played a fair few times but had no luck.
This morning, the jackpot had gone up from 500 tickets to 644 (each time a player fails to win, the jackpot goes up by 1). I was determined to have it.
4 goes in and I got lucky and won the jackpot.
Was very excited.
Played some more 2ps and other arcade games, and after that, I had 950 tickets.
One of my friends had a further 350 and the other 50 (the last one didn't play any ticket machines - she enjoyed winning the 2p trinkets instead haha).
So we clubbed together and ended up getting:
2 kites
A Snap band (dya remember them from ages ago, slap them on your wrist and it makes a bracelet haha. Boyfriend mentioned not seeing them for ages a few months ago, so I bought him one)
A pack of bubbles
A rubber band sports watch
A pack of pencils
1 gold & 1 silver gel pen
4 lollies (which I may have had one of, but haven't pointed =/ Ah well, I've got weeklies, they'll surely cover it).

So we decided to go down to the beach and fly our kites for a bit, and then realised that the bit of beach we were on, was where the water skiing racing mentioned last night was going on, so we saw a bit of that whilst trying to stop out kites from constantly crashing/tangling themselves up.

Then my friends wanted donuts. I resisted them just as I'd resisted fish & chips last night.
One friend also wanted a battered sausage. And when we were in the chip shop, I saw onion rings advertised. I was so tempted, but stayed away, knowing if I started, I'd order more stuff, like chips & a battered sausage of my own.

After that, it was time to come home.
My battered sausage friend wanted to go to the outlet centre near to home, so once my bestie (who was driving) dropped us off home, we headed off over there.
I had no intention on buying anything, until we went into the M&S outlet.

But before that, we went into Pilot and I picked up a size 14 dress that was only £5. Quite liked it, so went to try it on.
It looked ridiculous. My boobs were far too small for it, and it had a cut out at the back, and it was all gappy.
Was absolutely chuffed that a size 14 was too big.

Then into M&S. Went for a nosey in the clearance section and spotted a really cute dress for just £8.99, usual price in M&S £37.50, usual outlet price £16.99.
There was a 14, a 10 and an 8. No 12s for me =( I joked to my friend "Here, you can have the 14, I'm gonna have the 10. No, I'm gonna have the 8 I've just decided" and laughed and put it back.
They were like, you should try it on, it's really nice.
So I picked up the 10, feeling very optimistic, and shoved it on over my shorts & tshirt (I'm lazy like that, I very often try stuff on over my clothes rather than going into a fitting room) and it fitted.
Was very pleased.
But the boobs bit looked a bit baggy.
So they said give the 8 a go. I was like, yeah right, like it's gonna fit.
But I tried it on anyway and it did!!!!
Could not believe it.
Looked pretty much perfect, and for £8.99, just had to buy it.
It's blue, and I don't tend to go for blue as a clothing colour, but they told me it looked really good, so I went for it!

I don't think I've ever been a size 8 (and yes, it's probably because of the sizing of the garment, as we all know different shops have different sizing but shhhhh).
I'm pretty sure when I was a bridesmaid for my uncle, my bridesmaid's dress was a size 10. It could've been a 12.
But I was 11 then. Since then I've been a 14-16, and at some points of my life, even an 18.
So absolutely ecstatic about this size 8.

Home now, and just had dinner of 3 vegetable fingers, 162g of WW chips, a slice of bread and 30g salad cream all for 14 points. Quite high for a dinner, but I didn't really have much of a lunch (read that as no lunch - I had a banana & a cereal bar, but wasn't really hungry), and had only used a total of 4 points all day, so went for it big style on dinner instead of having a ready meal.

I've got 8pp left, but I already know what I'm going to have - cake & ice cream.
Mmm.

Anyway, think that's enough of my rambling, and I think I've caught you all up.
Hope you all had a good weekend like myself, and here's to a new week.
Hope everyone's on plan and has a good loss =)
x

This is the jackpot machine last night before failed attempts upped it even more to my 644 jackpot.
