How much can I realistically lose in 3 months?

    Hi all,

Just after some advice if anyone can spare a minute or two.

I am getting married in June (19th to be precise) and am desperate to be slim(er) for it, I have been "trying" on and off for the last 6 months or so and from 19st 10lb, I am now around 18st 11lb. Not great I know, but a start.

I was going pretty well on my latest attempt, until, about 3 weeks ago, I was knocked off my bicycle in a hit and run incident and have hardly done any exercise since. It's also messed up my chances of doing a half marathon i had enlisted in. Gutted.

If I am back to square 1, I am wondering how much i could lose in 3 months, bearing in mind the following things:

    • I am doing WW points myself
    • I am quite an active person usually and when my ribs are fulyl healed, will be exercising every day
    • I have my stag do(s) to go on and whilst it will be active (with lots of walking and football etc) I am going to have to build in some points for a lots of beer.

If anyone can advise so I can give myself a reachable, but rewarding target, then I woudl be grateful.

I have promised my fiancee I will lose weight for the wedding, and I don't want to let her down. Of course she has been understanding about the accident but I've got 3 months to really prove to her, and myself, I can do this.

Oh, one big thing is that I have given up Crisps until after the wedding! People don't understand but this is a HUGE thing for me. I was probably getting through 20 - 25 packs of crisps a week (the 1.5 WW pt ones) so this is definitely a step in the right direction. I originally was going to give them up for lent, but have now extended it.

Anyway, sorry for waffling, any help from you experts would be much appreciated.

Sixteen weeks at 2lbs a week is 32lbs. 2 and a half stone nearly. That would be do-able. Reckon you could do more if REALLY pushed it, men often lose more than women. I say just eat healthy, and enjoy your wedding. She obcviously loves you just the way you are!!

Hi there's a couple of guys on here, bigdollop, Anthony Smith Phil (sorry anyone left out) maybe get dome advice from them, they lose quickly, I lost 3 stone in 5 months but I know zphil list double what I did, I have a crisp fetish too so know how your feeling , you csn do it as said go for 2lbs a week if you do you as plan it will probably be a little more. Just keep the image in your head of your wedding day and how you want to look.

hey hun, like many have shown it can differ tbh depends on many things like you state your normally active etc that will help, but not definitely needed to ensure good losses, i usually tend to just go with 1lb / 2lbs a week... as that's what the average loss is on WW therefore in three months say a stone min! men do tend to lose more and also everyone tends to see a bigger loss on the first two weeks of WW therefore some actually end up losing 12/14lbs in the first two weeks it's difficult to actually say for certain ofc, but if you say aim for between 1 - 2 stone, then think of anything else as a bonus if you set the target too high then you dont reach it, it will de-motivate you whereas if you set a lower target and then reach it you will feel amazing and gives you a push to carry on etc good luck xx
