Thread: should i point things myself or use the book?

    should i point things myself or use the book?

    i'm finding it hard with the pointing this week..finding my book very vague also maybe i dont have all the info as i'm only on week 2,,so if book says 2 slices of low calorie bread for 1and half points,,but i read the nutrition label and it comes up as one point what do i do???just opened a packet of ham and according to the packet i could have 100g of ham for 1 and half points,,is it right??

    The bread thing is a frequent discussion on here lol WW in their wisdom say because the bread values are rounded up that although 1 slice is 0.5 points then 2 slices are 1.5 - IMO madness. As far as Im concerned 0.5 + 0.5 = 1 and I ALWAYS count it as that.

    Personally I think if you start worrying about rounding up all the time, youll go mad lol If you count it as 1 point, I wouldnt worry about it

    I think if you have the nutritional information, use it, as it's more likely to be accurate. The book can always only ever be an estimation as things vary. I only use the books if I don't have the nutritional information available

    I only use the book if Im stuck too. The nutitional value is a much safer/more accurate option. Id always use it if its available

    I know it's easier said than done but try not too worry about it too much. Obviously you need to point accurately for it to work, but as you get used to it, it will all become easier and clearer. Just don't start stressing about it too much so that it seems to be too much of a chore
