    Question about my journey

    Hey guys Im new to this forum as I was recommended by a friend. So i will tell ya a little about me, im 26 years old and for most of my life i was at a healthy weight around 10 to 11 stone however i found out last year that i was bipolar and they put me on this medication that just piled the weight onto me. Now i was also eating terrible to and in the space of a year i put on about 6 stone and iam disgusted at myself as i has got stretchmarks on my thighs and stomach.

    Anyway my question is do you think it is possible that i could lose 6 stone in about 5 months. I just joined a gym and i go 5 to 6 days a week and iam not on any specific diet just healthy eating and lots of exercise?

    Also regarding the stretch marks, i have just started puting on palmers coca butter as i was told this will help them fade and prevent me getting any more. But will my stretch marks be less noticeable the more weight i lose?

    Please any advice would be great and sorry if this is in the wrong forum part?

    Hi Hun, I started my journey a few years ago at 21 stone (I'm now 11.4). I lost a couple of stone on my own then joined ww. I think I lost the first 4 stone in about 5/6 months, didn't go to the gym though so have no idea how it would affect weight loss.

    As for stretch marks I still have loads but they have faded. New stretch marks are supposed to be helped by bio oil, have you tried it? I think a lot of it depends on your genes

    I think the best way is to lose it slowly, then the baggy skin has time to reduce with you.

    Good luck with your weight loss and let us know how you get on. The key is motivation and you seem to have that

    hi luv,

    i found bio oil worked for my streach marks they fade but i still no theyre there!

    everyones bodies different, but i would say you could prob lose that in that time frame! have u got a diary wud b intreasting to follow!
    As above jus take it slowly and healthy!

    I would say that 6 stone in 5 months is unlikely to be honest - although it does depend how big you are to start with.

    I've lost almost 5 stone in 6.5 months and that is incredibly fast! And I started running so I do exercise as well. Do be realistic otherwise you will get despondant and view yourself as a failure.

    Good luck though.

    Hiya,

    I also have bipolar and know the feeling to do with the meds and putting on weight :/ I put on 2 stone in 6 months and just kept on gaining. Of course the way I was eating didn't help along with the moods and ups and downs. I can be done, I find it a lot easier when I'm on more of an even keel rather then up or down.
