    I'm back

Hey folks, I thought I would drop in to say I'm back and I'm going to give this thread another go.
I used to post regularly but got disheartened around Christmas time and felt it wasn't the same. Numbers dwindled and all the faithfuls left one by one so I too decided to jump ship.
Although I wasn't posting any more, I still stuck to plan and I can proudly say that to date I have lost 4 stone 3 pounds. I am 5 & 1/2 pounds away from ww'ers target though I want to lose about another half stone so it gives me something to play with.
I can totally understand how a lot of you feel. I have had down times, good times, gains and sts but I persevered with it, got through some difficult times and now I am so glad I stuck to it.
If I didn't stick with it, the only person who would have suffered was me. I'm the one who puts food in my mouth, I'm the one who needed to lose weight and I was the only one who could do anything about it. Please, if ever you feel like giving up, don't. I know better than anyone as I was so close to giving up many times and shed many tears but now looking back I know that my perseverance has paid off.
Just look at it as a phase. I would crave chocolate but knew if I went out for a walk or had a bath the feeling would pass. Keep at it folks, sheer bloody determination got me here and I hope you all will too :-)

I know its not easy. It's frigging difficult!!! Just think of the reasons why you want to do it, and think of the benefits. The main focus for me was my son. I have to set an example as I don't want him falling into the same eating habits I had. I knew if I continued the way I was my life expectancy was decreasing and I have shed many a tear over it. I wouldn't go out and kick a ball with him or go out for a cycle. I used every excuse imaginable. I know I was selfish, but knew I had to do something as I couldn't carry on the way I was.
Do you know what your triggers are? If you know what they are thats half the battle. Boredom, habit or just feeling down? Once you recognise them then you can deal with them.
Good luck and I'm sure you will do well xx

What an amazing post. You have done so well. Your words about your son and not want to join him rings home with me. Plus what you said about its only you who puts it in your mouth or is fat.

I have been flaffing around for ages, I tried sw but this time it's doing it for me. Ww has been tempting but always thought it's horrid pointing everything but it's the only way I think I'm going to get my weight off. I'd like to lose 1st 7lbs. This is for me, by two bits and my husband.

Thank you for your wise words and kicking my butt in gear ready for Monday. I know the first few weeks are going to be hard....

Aww, thank you. I'm not on here for a pat on the back lol. I just want people to know that it can be done. It's a long hard road but we need a reason to motivate us. I've been fat for years and tried various diets and kept saying they don't work for me. Of course they work, I just found excuses not to diet!!
it wasn't until my son was asking about food and where it comes from etc. that it struck me that I am responsible for what he puts into his mouth just as I am responsible for what I put into mine. The thing is I had a choice, he didn't. I made the choice for him. What I give him for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks was up to me. I was miserable being over weight and I don't want him feeling the way I did through my selfishness. As I gave him more healthy things I did the same too.

If my post can motivate one person on this forum, then I've achieved what I set out to do :-)

Thank you for your post, and well done on your fab loss! It's nice to hear its worked, and you have been honest about the bad/hard times as well as the good! Refreshing to hear it isn't all plain sailing. I have a couple of really good weeks and then a couple of slower/more difficult weeks. This was just what I needed to read to kick myself up the bum and work through the struggle, and get over the last couple of slip up days! X

You made me smile :-) no I'm not going to paint a picture of how easy it is and it was plain sailing. I've had a few 'blips' along the way and always felt angry and disappointed with myself so yes I'm real!! Lol :-)
This is Monday, the start of a new week so consider yourself kicked up the bum ;-) xx

Well done!! You've had quite a journey too so I can totally relate to what you say. I too was the heaviest I'd ever been 16st 4 & 1/2lbs after having my son and didn't look in the mirror as I didn't like what I saw.
Night time is my downfall too. I have a bath or clean the toilet that way I'm not distracted but I'm doing something to prevent me from binging. Keeping busy is what works for me. When that craving feeling subsides its such a relief to know you haven't blown it. Do you have any hobbies? xx

Hi Hazy and welcome back to WW (think i remember you from before) I regained the weight i lost last time round due to pregnancy and then mental illness but back now to shift it once and for all. I'm using Discover points as this worked for me in the past and the extra 49 weeklies on pro-points is bad news for me. Makes me want to eat even when not hungry. Not good!

i dont have any hobbies as such. got my hands full with the kids but i do like catching up with my friends but that generally leads to over eating and too much drinking!! keep meaning to get out with the dog more but its soo cold. i realy need to start doing some exercise though. today seems hard cos of the bad things ive been eating but day 1 back on it is always the hardest. i can do this, haha. i like reading but that wont get me very far sat on my bum! ive had a week of rubbish food cos ive had flu and i can honestly say i dont want to see a takeaway for a long long time. every time i think im going to eat im going to read your post to stop me cos it motivates me. onlt i can do it and its only me that im letting down if i cheat.xx
