Poor loss in first week?

I am doing my first week on WW and I know it's a bad idea, but I stepped on the scales this morning and I think I'll be lucky to have lost even a pound this week. I was doing slimming world until a few weeks ago and since I stopped going I'd gained 5lb due to eating far too much junk and so I expected a big loss. I feel really disappointed and I'm wondering if it's due to eating cereals and bread as these things aren't allowed freely on slimming world? I've been watching portion sizes too and definitely eating less than I did on SW.

I just want to prepare myself in case I'm not happy when I get on the scales tomorrow night. Did anyone else not have a good loss their first week and go on to have a bigger one the following week?

Thankyou!

Two days before my first weigh in, I weighed on my scales at home and had put on 2lbs, but at two days later at my official weigh in, I had lost 6lbs. For me it was different scales, different clothes, different time of day, and I hadn't given it a full week.

Good luck

I was the same, weighed on day 6 and was the same weight, but day 7 had dropped 3lb.
I have also in the past had no loss or just 1lb in the first week but then had a massive loss in week 2.
From my experience of lots of dieting, I would say that even if you don't lose anything this week, don't write the diet off until you have weighed on week 2 as there can be lots of factors in relation to weight loss and normally in the first week it is water loss and not fat.

Thankyou. I didn't lose anything at all, in fact, I thought the scales were going to say gained half a pound at first. I feel so disappointed. I hope it's just a glitch as I've stuck to the plan totally, unless I'm doing something wrong, but I'm sure I'm not. I even didn't eat a single bit of party food at my daughters birthday party last Friday.

It's hard not to compare and as lots of the foods I've been eating (cereals, bread) are very limited on slimming world, I'm wondering if it's that?

Hi Midori1999

I just wanted to say - hang in there!

In my first week I expected a big loss too as this is what I've previously experienced, but also I had started to excercise as well (not a huge amount, but certainly more than I used to). I was rather gutted to only have lost 2lb my first week and I really thought it would be 4 or 5.

However, I hung in there and followed the plan (maybe ate a few less weeklies than the first week) continued to excerise and in my second week I lost 4lb! That was more like it :)

Apart from using maybe 5-10 less weeklies, I really didn't do anything else different. I think for some of us it just takes a littke while to kick in. Give it another few weeks and see what your results are.

Actually, have you had another WI since your last post? How did you get on?
