Help me find some motivation, please?

    Hi

I've been through every diet over the years. I'm at the heaviest now that I've ever been and have just over six stone to lose I can't seem to motivate myself in the slightest. The diets are all so contradictory that my head is really screwed up with it.

I've got to do something. I'm unhappy and uncomfortable. In starting to feel the physical effects of the weight I'm carrying. I have two little boys and I really don't want them to ever have to do this for themselves so it's important that I fix me so they don't learn it.

How do you all motivate yourself. How do you stay on plan. Please help me to find the focus. I've subscribed to a monthly pass today. I plan to spend a few days sorting myself out to start on Tuesday as the boys go back to school and to get back into my routine.

    Hi,

I'm in the same boat with roughly 6.5/7 stone to lose. I struggle to find my motivation and am doing WW online from home as i cant get to a class. I have reset my history several times and have decided that tomorrow is my fresh start. I have looked out a photo of when i was at a healthy weight and am going to stick it on my fridge to remind me of what i once was and what i want to be again. Plus i think the key is planning. I do eat better when i have a menu planned as its so easy to eat snacks instead of a meal when you have kids and i have 2 under the age of 2! Planning and a visible goal are my tips!

    Good luck! x

    Hi Nemesis

Thanks for replying. That's a good idea about the picture, I think I will do that myself. Maybe alongside the one from the weekend where I look like I was inflated with a foot pump lol!!

I've planned up till Friday, have a shopping delivery coming today. Just got to write it out and stick it up so I can be sure I stick to it. I'm also doing from home as struggle to find a meeting after the kids go down for the night. But might try and get to one here or there with the monthly pass. See how I get on.

Good luck for tomorrow, fingers crossed we can crack it for the last time! Keep in touch x

It's so difficult when you can't get in "the zone".

The motivation comes from getting really really focussing on what you want and why you want it and how you're gonna get there. Photos of yourself when you've felt better about your weight, setting mini goals, etc. I find it helps to plan plan plan - have a clear plan for how you'll do it so it feels achievable. When you start losing that's motivating in itself.

Use your mind too if you can. Really imagine how good it will feel when you get there. How proud of yourself you'll be and knowing what a good example you are being for your boys.

Feels a bit weird but visualisation can be really powerful but so are our old habits!!

I love that feeling when you're really motivated but have to say I struggle to recover when I fall off plan.

Good luck. I've just rejoined SW and am buying a 12 week pass. Let us know how you're getting on.

Thanks target, appreciate the reply. I guess my first mini goal would have to be getting into the next stone bracket! Think I need to be sticking plenty on my fridge to keep me focused. Good luck with sw, also keep in touch x

My first week went pear shaped because i didn't plan a thing and i haven't lost anything. Tonight i have sat down and planned everything i am going to eat next week with exception of my weeklies. I havent planned those and am hoping that they will bumper anything extra i may have. I guess it showed that for me planning is so important! Hope your week was better x

I'm having the reverse... Planned the first week went well, have fallen and not planned anything this week. Not great. Need to sit down and plan tomorrow.

I'm the same. I guess I need to focus and think of why I want to do this now. I'm an emotional eater and its playing havoc just now. Doesn't help my other half is like a bean pole with less than 1% body fat yet lives on lucazade, chocolate and pizza!
