Hey everyone, I've been on a diet called slim tuition it's basically a version of lighter life so I have 3 foodpacks a day and 1 low fat, low carb meal a day. I started September 1st weighing 15 stone 6 lbs and am currently 13 stone 4lbs which means I've basically list 2stone 2lbs in about 9 weeks. It's fantastic, however ..... When I had my last weigh in my councillor told me that this would be my last weeks supply because she is closing. There aren't any other slim tuition councillors anywhere near me as it's so new. I also knew the councillor very very well and I wasn't paying so it's been free I can't afford to pay for lighter life etc so I'm in a bit of a panic now really because what happens when my foodpacks run out ? I haven't had bread, potatoes, chocolate anything naughty for this whole time I'm genuinely scared that I'm going to put weight back on. Not that I plan on eating those things but in reality I will again at some point and everything has been off limits on this diet so it's been easy to resist. So I'm thinking that I need a new healthy eating plan to follow now and I'm thinking weight watchers is the one. I've done the diet before, never lost massive amounts without giving up but after doing so well and my life finally taking a positive turn I feel ready to commit to it, so I just wondered if any of you had switched from a vlcd to weight watchers before ? I'm probably going to gain a few pounds of my glycogen back and even that scares me. I'm a serial weigher lol ! So the thought of even see a pound added chills me to the bone. I know I just need to relax but I just can't at the moment it's panic stations in my head right now ! Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated xxxx

I've never done a VLCD, I would never have stuck to it and I knew it, but I know of one member of my class transitioned over from Lighter Life because her hair was falling out and she hated not being able to go out at all. I think she did put on a little bit of weight at the beginning, but she is loosing regularly now. I think a lot of people try the drastic solutions and then try and find a more permanent plan that suits them.

Does your councillor have any advice about how to make the change to eating again, I know LL and Cambridge do. Also definitely try to call ahead to discuss your concerns with a WW leader in your area, you won't be the first person they've had who's been on a VLCD and they'll have some forewarning that you might need extra support when you go to a meeting. Also if you think it might be worth it, consider if your GP might worth a visit to assess your progress so far and offer any more professional health and nutrition advice and support or contacts going forward.

WW is great because it really does teach you proper portion control and the PP system helps you feel in control of how much you're eating without having to resort to 2/3rd shakes and mousses. You've lost an amazing amount of weight in a short time frame and you're feeling motivated and positive, so I think its maybe serendipitous that you find a healthy eating plan that involves more food in a controlled way. Your rate of loosing with probably go right down but you'll learn the habits that will help keep it off and help you have the goodies in moderation or be able to draw the line under a bad day and keep moving forward.

And if it helps you can always make zero soups packed with nutrients for lunch and a smoothie/mousse for breakfast and have a light meal for evening, to mimic what you were doing before but with actual foods not processed shakes to ease you into it. Every time I get tempted to buy expensive shakes and boost my losses for a week I think, "no Featherhat, if you want to give up meals for a week make a balanced soup for a week for 2-3 PP per batch rather than a Slim fast shake that is 6PP per bottle." And that works.

Good Luck! :D

Hi, I've previously done a VLCD a few years back and it was exante. They have widened there variety of soups and shakes bars. However you have to weigh yourself and don't go and see anyone. I lost 5stone in 17 weeks on exante, so if you are into VLCD's it's a good one and worked out £25 roughly per week.
If you need anymore info give me a shout!
I'm not doing ww, love food too much
Good luck xx
