Hi guys,

I am new to this forum - started WW again on Monday as I have put on approx. 2 stone in the past year and I now need to take action.

My question to all of you is whether any of you have had success on the Propoints programme whilst on Lustral 150mg daily and Eltroxin 50mg? I have found that my weight gain has been related to taking the antidepressant medication.

I desperately need to hear some success stories as everytime I step on the scales, I have put on weight despite not eating that much relatively speaking.

All success stories welcome and so helpful at the moment :)

Thanks a mill,
Dance3eye

Hello hun, I don't follow WW I am a SW girl, but after years and years of no success, I am doing it, I have spent most of my life on antidepressants, heavy dosed steroids for a severe skin condition, Levothyroxin for my underactive thyroid and metformin for my diabetes, I finally have managed to stick to a plan and have lost 12st 1.5lbs of the 20st I gained.
It doesn't matter what plan you are on, all I will say is study it, make sure you plan all meals ahead along with snacks (I have found after 40+ years of trying to lose weight this is the key to success) and drink plenty of water. It's taken me just over 4 years to lose that weight but it can be done if you want it enough, it took much longer to put it on than it has so far to take it off.
I don't say good luck as I don't believe it's luck, so congratulations in advance for all your effort, you can do it xxx :hug99: xxx

P.S. well done 2lb is a great start ...you go girl :woohoo:  xxx

Oh my goodness thank you so much boofle and Lily24uk!! That is so inspirational. Amazing weightloss both of you and Lily42uK - you should be so proud of yourself - 12st is a huge weightloss.

I wil stick with WW for another while and see how I go but SW seems to be a great solution too.

I go to acupuncture for a stomach related problem and my acupuncturist reckons that SW is a great plan to get rid of 'dampness' (basically a bad thing that causes all our thyroid and anxiety issues!) in the body.

Do you ladies feel a lot better on the SW plan? I have found that increasing my levothyroxine from 25mg daily to 50mg daily has helped me so much and I'm hoping that the diet will also help me feel more energetic and uplifted too.

Thanks again for replying to my post and keep up the good work :)

Hi dance3eye I feel lots better after my loss i am 8 from my target due to putting on over xmas and new year, my thyroxine is 100mg daily. Slimming world i feel is a great plan as long as you watch your portions, just because food is free does not mean eat eat eat, i eat 3 meals per day and in between i have my b choice and fruit and yog in between good luck xx

Thanks boofle - can I ask what TSH level you are maintaining at on the 100mg per day.

I have a TSH of circa 3.0 each time I get tested - my doctor thinks this is normal but I don't feel like I have normal energy or metabolism!

You have done so well on SW - definitely will check it out if WW doesn't work longer term.

Thank you hun, thankfully having lost the weight and doing regular exercise seems to help immensely, when I first started exercising I could barely manage 5 minutes a day, but over the last 4 years I have built that up to between 2 and 3 hours a day, not all at the same time but in half hour to 1 hour sessions and even then I have to usually sit down a few times, years of being overweight, an accident at work 15 years ago and arthritis due to the psoriasis have had their effect on me, but I am determined none of them will beat me, losing the 12st+ has helped so much too but I know I can't sit back on my laurels and must keep on at it.
I have over the 40+ years of trying to lose weight tried every plan you can think of and then some lol and for me it has to be SW, I was a huge WW fan for 20+ years but never really lost more than a couple of stone, it's only since joining SW and having the support of the most amazing consultant, who just happens to be a man and the group that I go to, the ladies and gents there are the most supportive people I have ever met, that I finally have found a plan that suits my appetite...being on the heavy steroids means I am constantly hungry it's a hunger that is never satiated, but I can eat lots of small meals and loads of fruit and my other saviours sugar free jelly and fat free yogurt and it's working.
You must stick with whatever works for you hun, but do stick with it, that's the lesson I have finally learnt...do not give up when it gets tough and looks like there is no end in sight....my motto is I didn't put it on overnight, so why would I expect to loose it overnight?
I have lost only 7lb in the last 18 months mainly due to having to take extraordinary high amounts of steroids as I am currently having a bad time with my condition, but I never missed a single class, gain or lose I went every week and now :fingerscrossed: it seems to be paying off as I am finally losing again, in the past I would have given up, but now it's time to beat the fat and NOT let it beat me ...sorry that was a mouthful and a half lol
Just keep on doing what you're doing hun, you'll get there xxx:hug99:xxx

Hi dance3 eye i am sorry but i do not know my levels all i can tell you is i was on 75mg for 4 years and 100mg for the past year, i also take lisinopril blood pressure tabs 15mg daily, well done on your loss keep posting and we can keep an eye on you lol xx

All,

Not great news today - no weight loss this week despite sticking to the plan. Think I fell down on the exercise front so I am going to try harder this week. I am also going to swap my low-calorie cereal bar snacks for fruit and see if that helps.

Hope all is going well for ye :)

Hi dance3eye do not be too disappointed, plan and focus for the week you will see the results next week xx

Thanks Boofle - definitely feel much better anyways whatever the scales say :) I have more energy and feel more in control so that can only be a good thing.

hello hun, good for you for not getting disappointed and carrying on
If you haven't exercised in a while your muscles tend to hold onto water which could explain no weight loss, but keep up the good work and you'll see amazing results in the not too distant future xxx:hug99:xxx

Thanks Lily42uk :)

Lost 1.5lbs this week - weighed in this morning so delighted!!! Even if the weight loss is slow its still a loss and I'm thrilled :)

Hope all is going well with you all.

Here's to another week of healthy eating :)

:woohoo: well done you, that's amazing ...slow is good that way you're more likely to keep it off, you have got it perfect, they reckon 1-2lbs a week is the perfect weight loss so 1.5 being dead in the middle is where you should be so  keep up the good work xxx
It's taken me 3 years and 4 months to lose 12st, I am over the moon with that, took m 40 years to put it on so losing that in that time is fabulous :giggle: and at that rate the other 7+ st I have to lose will take about 2 years, I am happy with that too as long as it's gone by my 60th in just over 3 years I will be over the moon, I have averaged 1lb a week with the ups and downs and I am happy to take that one pound every week.
Here's to another good week hun, well done again xxx:hug99:xxx

Hey, hope all is well and hopefully we'll speak soon, have a great weekend xx:hug99:xx
