Ive decided to record my journey in a hope to keep myself on track and motivated.
I have previously lost 3 stone with SW and got stuck for the last 18 months fluctuating between the next half stone.
I tried calorie counting and portion control but nothing would work so I went to see my Doc who gave me xenical. Ive now been taking it for one month exactly and Im sort of doing SW/portion control at the same time. All low fat as thats the way I cook anyway. (apart from cakes )
I lost 7lbs the first fortnight which I was really pleased with but Ive only lost 2lbs this second fortnight which although Im happy as it is a loss I feel a little disheartened as I hoped that xenical would give me slightly higher losses initially.
I dont want to get down so Im making sure I stay on track.
I still have at least 5 stone to go so I need to keep going.
Im off now to pick up my repeat prescription from the chemist for my second month. Overall, its been pretty good. Only a couple of tango moments I that took me by suprise but generally easy to cope with.
So, if anyone has good recipes to share .......

As it's only the 3rd of July and my weigh in was on the 1st I've decided to set myself a goal of a 12 lb loss this month.
Have started using my fitness pal on my phone, i prefer boots diets for online and for calories boots let's me have 1475 per day to lose 2lb per week and my fitness pal only 1200 calories per day to lose the same 2lb. So I'm generally coming somewhere in-between the two amounts .
I'm also working on drinking more water. Although I love water I love tea even more so it always comes second best.
Goodluck hun, you have made a great start. I sometimes think these sites maybe slightly wrong with the calories they allow us, our bodies are all different on the inside, so i only take these as a rough guide line!! At one point i was only allowed 1400 calories and believe me, thats no where near enough for me just yet, s i had to change my weekly weight loss goal!!
I know. They are so different . I would rather eat mire calories as well but I'm trying to stay lower as I wasn't getting very far with the 1475. This probably has something to do with the fact that I can't exercise very much though
my fitness pal said i should only have 1200 calories too and that i would only lose 9 lb in 5 weeks so i stopped going on there cos i was hoping for much more !!!
i feel i should lose more weight too but hey i can't believe that i have already lost 2 stones and have stayed on this diet for 12 weeks.
usually i give up after 6 weeks .
we are all in here long term so just keep going and you will be surprised how these small losses mount up.

Urghh! Don't fancy saggy skin. I'm hoping to avoid that.

I don't want the embarrassment or inconvenience of tango but when it happens even just a little bit I'm reassured that it's working .

hey there, thought i would pop in say hi and all that...
good luck... my advice is not to try and aim too high,. if you do things right, and stick with it, add some exercise in there you will eventually lose weight.. everyone is different, and if you stick with it (and dont get down like you said) you will succeed..

Unofficial weigh in at home and I've lost 5 lbs !! Very happy. But I won't count my chickens til next week at the docs.
I've realised that I need to snack. I've realised that if I don't snack and then get hungry. I will eat a good meal but then I'll carry on and snack on anything I can get my hands on. I guess it's right, keep your blood sugar on an even keel and you won't stuff your face. - hindsight is a wonderful thing :0)
its a hard one to get your head around... you want to keep your cals low, but then if you dont snack you end up eating more sometimes.. its frustrating at times....
oohhh about the weigh in, and cant wait to find out what the official one is
definitely better to have snack instead of going mad later on, even if your at home and its some low fat jelly!! Well done on weigh in, your doctors one will no doubt be just as good if not better!!
