My FINAL weight loss diary!!!!!

Ok - so here goes!

This is my FINAL weight loss diary as i am sick of being a slave to diets week in and week out! I have tried slimming world, weight watchers, celebrity slim, starving myself, slimming pills!

This time i decided i am going to do it healthily, less crap and more moving!!! I recently saw my GP for a thyroid test (my youngest daughter was born with a thyroid problem so i have been regularly tested just in case i have a problem - which it appears i don't!) I was talking to my GP regarding my weight and she suggested that i could try Orlistat! so i have!

I started 19/08/13 at 14st 6lb or 202lbs BMI of 32, i'd love to get to 10st 7lb but to start with i'm doing mini targets!

1st - Get into the 13's
2nd - 13st 9lb - BMI under 30
3rd - Get into the 12's
4th - 12st 6lb Wedding Day Weight
5th - Into 11's
6th - 11st 5lb - BMI under 25
7th - Into the 10's
8th - 10st 7lb

My weigh in days are Mondays, which i will update here! This diaries for my own benefit really as i like to look back how much im going to acheive!! hopefully!!

If anyone wants to join in please do, im new to the orlistat and still learning so any advice is greatly appreciated!!!!

Quick Update! Day 4

Even though it is only Day 4 i am amazed at how well i am doing!!! I seem to have found some inner willpower, either that or my inner self is more petrified than i thought about the 'treatment effects' of orlistat! I can honestly say i have not even thought about touching anything i shouldn't have! AND i have been to the gym 3 times this week already :)
I feel great! i just hope that i can hold on till after the weekend for weigh in day on monday as thats where i usually lose my way - this time i think i'll be ok!!!!

Still updating my own knowledge regarding orlistat, i have purchased the Alli diet book, different tablets i know but i was told the principles were the same, so far i have been using My fitness pal to ensure my fat intake is no more than 15g per meal and no more than 3g per snack and my calorie limit is set at 1400 but i seem to be hovering around 1200 quite comfortably.

Anyone have any advice/guidelines for what im doing or personal experiences with orlistat?

Thanks xx

Sounds like your head is in the right place! You'll do brilliantly, I'm sure!
My personal tips would be .... don't eat less than 1200!! I don't lose when I eat less than 1200 calories.
Drink loads of water.
Take a multi vitamin at bedtime ( at least 2 hours after taking your last tablet) as the tablets absorb some vitamins, therefore you should top them up.
Keep updating on here... peoples advice / support on here is invaluable. I couldn't do it without them!
Try not to have too much in the house which has more than 5% fat... that way, you can't grab it! I have nothing in the house anymore, and the kids have barely even noticed!
Any questions, just shout. This is just personal to me, I know the others will have plenty of invaluable information for you. It really is a great community that I'm so pleased to be a part of.

Good luck!! I found the first week the hardest with regard to what I can eat, now it just seems like a natural thing to check the labels of food. I use MFP to check my calorie count and it's amazing!!!
Keep us informed to what your doing! Xx

Thanks Ladies!!

I have tried so many diets and quick fixes that I'm surprised I've stuck to this so well - even though its only 4 days in! But that's 4 whole days without so much as a sniff of chocolate!!!!

My main aim is to just get through this weekend to weigh in on Monday! Weekends are hard with hubby at home trying to sabotage my every move!! (Hes not too bad quite supportive but doesn't think before messing up my plans and suggesting bad foods!!) I've meal planned though so I'm sure I can do this!!! Plus I'm too scared to go near anything that might cause me 'issues'

I will definitely keep posting on here and using mfp, I'd love to speak to like minded people throughout my little journey!

Good call on the 1200 calories I will definitely make an effort to eat no less would hate to be undoing my own hard work!!

X

For those of you already taking orlistat - how long does it take to work?? This is my 5th day will it be in my system and doing its job by now?? I know I've lost but also I haven't eaten any crap this week!! I just don't 'feel' any different - after all the horror stories I read I expected something - and my GP told me I might not want to leave the house (toilet) for a few days! I feel fine!! X

The horrid issues Will only happen if you don't eat within the rules. I've never had any bad effects. You shouldn't be feeling any different as long as you're being good! X

Completely agree, I was on it for 4 months last time & have been taking one a day for 3 weeks to keep me on track to the final goal & I have never had a problem but I eat as you are meant to.

Keep at it because you are clearly going the right way xx

That's good to know! Thanks! I can honestly say I have been 100% good! First time I have EVER said that about any diet!! X

Morning!!!!! a miserable rainy one here!!!

My scales have stayed the same for 3 days now!!!! I know I'm not Doing myself any favours By weighing everyday but I'm addicted!!!!!!! It did Ish me to stick my gym stuff on though 8.30 on a Saturday morning!!

Ive been so good this week stayed under my calorie goal every day as well as exercising! Since starting on Monday I've been 100% with food and been for 3 runs and 3 gym classes! That in itself is a huge achievement for me who only the week before this would have sat in front of TV with a family bar of choc most nights!!!

I think maybe my body is holding into the water from the exercise, I've done for this week anyway! Have a day of rest and look forward to weigh in!

I've been so happy with my dieting behaviour this week....so looking forward to weigh in on Monday and then just remembered its bank holiday!!!!!!!

No weigh in till Tuesday!!!!!

Now I don't know what to do;
1. Weigh myself Monday and go by my own scales.
2. Wait till Tuesday.

Big decisions I know! I don't want to take a day away from next weeks results, I'm an organisational geek! I like everything in its own box :))

Scales showing a small loss since yesterday but by small I mean 1/2 pound!!!!

I know your right - should be my first weigh in day tomorrow and I was hoping for a big loss!!! I'm still on for a good loss but I've been soooooo good I think I was hoping for miracles!!

I had a yummy chicken tikka masala (homemade slimming world recipe) last night instead of a usual takeaway - I was stuffed!!!!!! Any loss after that is a good one!!

Well I've done it!!!!! One week.....7 whole days and not one piece of bad food has touched my lips! Not a single crisp or chocolate button!!! I can't believe I've done it and I have no idea where this will power has come from, I just hope its here to stay!! I feel fantastic for it, sleeping better, I 'feel' slimmer, more energy....this is good!!!

The scales finally showed a change today after being stuck for 3 days!! Decided I'm going to wait and take my official weight tomorrow at my weigh in, usually Mondays but damn bank holiday :) goal for next week to stay away from the scales!!!! X

Does anyone know how Xen works with eggs?? We usually go to a lovely place that does poached eggs after weigh in's but I'm just was wondering how that will go down???

Poached eggs should be fine as they are not cooked with oil.
