Lots of weight to loose-My xenical and cal counting journey

Hi I need to loose a lot of weight. I have put on almost 6 and a bit stone after being on a mood stabilizer, I came off lost a stone had a relapse mental health wise and gained that back and some :( feel so disheartened so GP said I can try

I am 317lbs as of this moening or 22.9lbs

I am on xenical 120mg 3 x a day although they said to start with 1 meal and upp them. so having it with my tea tonight.

From what I have read need to eat 3 meals a day and plan to have fruit as snack.
I am taking it with my tea tonight I am going to try and calorie count too.

B weetabix, 168 cals 0.8 fats
banana 95 cal 0. 3 fat

chicken sandwich

jacket pot with tuna and veggies


400 mls skimmed milk in breakfast and drink during day 140 cals 0.4 fat

Hi just popping by to wish you luck. I am on antidepressants (a few different ones) so I can sympathise with you there. I am really struggling to lose as they make me crave food badly, I just have to try and ignore it but its not always that easy.

I would say to take the 3 tablets a day. I don't understand why your doctor would tell you otherwise! ! :D

Hi good luck on your journey x I went straight on the 3pills a day too as I would have thought people would need the help of the pills more at the beginning and maybe less as time goes on and you can control what you are eating more by yourself. I'm due to go back to docs on Friday for my 4 week check up and next batch of pills x I've found them really useful to put me off eating naughty takeaway food. I eat when I'm happy or sad (total emotional eater) and I've had a few things happen this past few weeks that would have sent me to the food. However because I knew I had taken them and they were in my system I couldn't for fear of bring tangoed so I stuck with it and the next day when I felt less emotional I was pleased that I had not given in xx
 
Good luck with starting the tablets, Jules. I would also go straight to 3 a day, one with each meal. Read the stickies here, follow the golden rules (No food more than 5% total fat, no more than 45g of fat per day) and you'll be fine. There is so much said on the internet about side effects. If you stick to the rules the only side effect you'll get is weight loss! We're all here to help and support each other so keep posting and don't be afraid to ask questions, we've all been there!

Yesterday was a funny day as my dad was taken into hospital :( BUT managed to stay on track :) with a healthy chicken sandwich-2.9% fat so pleased with myself.

Rach-sorry you too suffer from depression its a crippling illness sometimes isn't it? I crave foods in eve after taken my meds too, I TRY to ignore it too. I will take 3 tablets today then, took 1 yesterday and was ok :)

Figment-thank you, glad you have been getting on ok with your pills. Good luck at the drs on fri. I am a total emotional eater too. You have done so well not to give in hun. ( Sorry not sure why this is bigger text!)

Kitty-thanks for the rules :) I am sure I will ask lots of questions :) No not on my fitness pal anymore I have a cal counting book which is my bible and goggle if I get stuck!

Thanks Rach Aw Hun | can sympathize with the panic attacks I will only go out with my carer, so sorry you suffer from them too.

Hope you both have a good eve, my little boy has just gone to bed about to curl up with a dvd and my ww hoops crisps :)

Grrr cant sleep ( even with tablets tonight!) Little man keeps coughing in his sleep and I am worrying about dad. But reading info on here has kept me busy!

Thanks rach, thank you, little one has gone to nursery now, he slept till 8am-He is normally up between 5.30-6.30am. Typical! dad is still in at the mo and will be for a while yet, I am not going in today-I will just cry, going tomorrow as me blubbering will not do either of us any good! My uncle is going up with my mum today. It horrible when your sleep is disturbed, I am grumpy when i don't get enough sleep!

sarah, thank you, I started healthy eating last fri, but started the xen on mon, so going to weigh in this fri :) I hope the scales are kind to me. Fingers crossed.

Thanks hun, just horrible to see him in pain he is on liquid plus tablet morphine for pain, but is still in discomfort from the pain :( I am lucky my parents live 15 mins drive away so he is in the local hospital. Food wise I am on track :) quorn and pepper curry for tea just bought a sauce from asda though cant be bothered to make my own today-plus easier to add cals!
