How good is Zumba for weight loss?? Any feedback would be good :) xx thanks

I've been doing zumba since January now & have gone from 1 class per week to 3 classes per week now.
Not sure about weight loss as I'm on WW but I've definitely toned up & lost inches.

Plus i love it & have stuck to going to classes every week. :D x

Gunna have to give it a go then i think, thanks for ur response :) x

Hi Kelz,

If you're on slimming world, I've set up a 6 month zumba/weight loss challenge. You can find it here http://www.minimins.com/slimming-world-teams/212812-team-zumba-six-month-challenge.html

My mum doesn't diet (she's dead skinny anyway!) but she's being doing zumba a month and lost a couple of lbs. So that's coming from someone whose got nothing to lose :)

The general recommendation is to do it twice a week or more in order to actually see weight loss results.

Hope you fall as in love with it as I have :)

I've been going to Zumba for almost a year. At first I just toned up and lost some inches but since starting and sticking to my new diet I would say the weights coming off quicker than I would expect. It's the only exercise class I've stuck to for this length of time and I love it! If all exercise was this much fun I'd live at the gym. Give it a go you'll soon be hooked :)

I wouldn't say so. You can take it down as many levels as you like and it'll start gettin easier so so quickly :) x

Zumba is brilliant, such fun! I'm looking forward to my first class since getting my HRM!

As far as being fit to keep up, I'd say no. You just take it at your own pasce(?) The class I go to is very large (130) and some people keep going others take a breather. Your instrucer will show how to do different levels.

I think it also depends on your instructor. If you have an annoying one that stops between every track, then it slows down weight loss as it's being constant that burns loads of calories....stopping between tracks obv slows that down somewhat!! x

Zumba works!

Hello ladies,
Well I can confirm zumba works. I started running classes only last week. So I have been practising a little but in the space of probably a week I lost 3lbs and I really work a sweat. Oh did I mention I NEVER lose weight - its a constant and probably creeping up if I am honest.

...and, while I KNOW exercise helps to lose weight, I'm probably like most woman and don't believe it works quickly or for me!!!

I am converted! Give it a go - if nothing else you will have fun. It's not like aerobics which I find boring, it's more like a night out without the hangover and alcoholic calories.

Give it a go, good luck and have fun.

zumba really works!

Well I can say since I started zumba in March I have lost 53.5 inches in total from across my body!!!

I started WW 8 weeks ago & have lost 17lbs too but the inch loss is fantastic.
I've noticed I've toned up loads too & my skin is looking much better.

I'm now doing 3 to 4 classes each week. I love it. :D xx

3 x a week on classes, sometime four, at least three extra on wii. You might call me addicted.....

Well I've joined a local gym but links all the gyms in the borough together. There's a company who have a contract with all my gyms so it's always their classes I go to but they are at three different locations x

I was doing Zumba last year, then stopped as was moving house, but started again last week. Being the sort or person who weighs myself a lot, I can tell you that the morning after my first class I had lost 2 lbs, and the morning after my 2nd class I had lost 1 lb. I am dieting, but normally struggle to lose 1 lb a week, so that is significant loss to me.
