Hi all,

2nd weigh in of 2015 due tomorrow morning and I'm feeling a little bloated so not really sure how it's going to go, but I'll keep you posted :p For the first time ever, I'm going to try a VLC day on Friday (I can't manage a fast day as Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays are the only days I see my OH and we like to have a few drinks and some nice food :))

Minimins is so vast things can become a little lost! I'm not even sure why the 5:2 diet is buried under the JUDDD stuff as that all seems to have stopped. All the VLC diets have their own banner part I don't see why the intermittents shouldn't. Glad you've moved over anyway. It's nice to seem some others to talk to.

How are you getting on with having alcohol at the weekends? I find I retain so much water the scales never move. This year I'm limiting it to one glass on a Friday and the occasional Saturday. I used to have two or three on Thursday, Friday and Saturday! No wonder nothing ever changed. :sigh:
 
Hi Foxy - what a super week 1 weigh in for you!

I have only started this WOL. I did two weeks before Xmas and lost 7lbs which I was delighted with. I've been on it for the last two weeks (after gaining 5lbs over the hols!!). I lost 3lb last week, and weighed in this morning and lost nothing :-(

Definitely feeling sorry for myself today, given the result (or lack of!) on the scales and it's also TOTM - I'm crippled with pains :-( Blew today's allowance out of the water and unfortunately had a "feast" of a day instead of my planned "normal" lol....

I haven't had much time to work out about the alcohol but my plan is to fast Monday and Wednesdays, with a very low cal plan on Fridays. My partner lives hours away and he travels up to me on Friday evenings so we like a little drink. We also tend to eat out and have a few drinks on Saturdays. I'm hoping to enjoy my weekends and fast 2 days, with one VLC day. However this is going to be trial and error!

I made some changes this week (having just a dinner on fast days, whereas before I was having a light snack at lunch and a bowl of soup for dinner)...I'm going to revert back to the light snack/soup option. I definitely haven't been drinking enough water so I need to change this too. I know it's not all about the scales and I certainly will keep going, but I have to say I was disappointed this morning (even if I was 1/2 expecting it)....

Have you a diary on here I can subscribe to?

Perhaps try looking at a bit bigger picture. On 5:2 the weight loss is supposed to be 1lb a week so you should lose 4lb in the month and you've already lost 3 of those. :D

Im writing a thread rather than a diary thing but your welcome to comment! Don't forget the water and enjoy your Friday. :)
 
I love your way of thinking Foxy... Fair play looking forward to a low calorie day today so I can enjoy some alcoholic refreshments at the weekend lol.. You have a great Friday

Hello!

Well I had a lovely weekend... I managed my low cal day on Friday until about 7pm... Then had some gorgeous quiche (full fat!!) and some drinks (450 cals). Thoroughly enjoyed them.

Sat and Sun I didn't count at all and I was out on Sat night for quite a few drinkies as it was my friend's birthday.

Back on track today and it was a fast day. I had:
Lunch - can of red bull (113 cals)
Dinner - Cauliflower rice (I made this for the first time last night and it's gorgeous!!) Will post a pic later..... 35cals!!!!
3 bacon medallions = 99cals
1 slice easi singles = 55cals
2 medium eggs = 132cals

Total so far: 434 - woo hoo!!!
Had a good bit of water to drink too, so I really hope the scales move in the right direction this week.

I'm planning on fast again on Thursday (not my usual Wednesday) as I've dinner Wednesday night.

Hi Dietninja (great name by the way!!!),

I grated some fresh cauliflower and then microwaved it for approx 3 mins. Then I stuck it on the frying pan and added salt and pepper. I then mixed in some beaten egg (part of the omelette mix I made) so it was like egg fried "rice". I can't stand the smell of it when it's microwaved but you def don't smell it or taste it once it's fried. I haven't tried the cauliflower pizza base yet but that's the next plan ;-)

Hello all....

Well today was a normal day for me. I was aiming for 1700 cals and reached 1550. However, I will be eating over my 1700 tomorrow as I've dinner with my family tomorrow night. So the two days will balance out hopefully. I'm going to fast again on Thursday.

Today I had:
Snack - cereal bar
Lunch: 2 slices bread, 1 cheese triangle, 4 slices tomato, cereal bar. Can of red bull.
Snack - crisps and chocolate
Dinner: red bull (to boost my cals!), quorn mince, bolognase sauce, peas and carrots, chips.

Didn't manage to drink 2 litres of water unfortunately - will try harder tomorrow lol

Never thought of adding egg...adding that to my list of recipes to try :)

Well today went very well. I ended it on 520 cals. Made a lovely dinner of cauli rice, egg, peas and bacon for only 325 cals.... Large portion!!! Then I had a cereal bar and a can of red bull so I finished 20 above....but not to worry. I probably could have gone to bed without the cereal bar, but I was hungry lol!

Dreading the scales tomorrow morning :-( Sure we will see how it goes ;-) I hope everyone else had a great day.

Quick update... After maintaining last week I weighed in this morning 5lbs down. Woo hoo that's 8lbs in 3 weeks. I also lost 1.5 inches off my bust and 3 inches off my waist delighted.

Definitely going to keep off the carbs on my fast days
