STarted my second week today, after years of yoyo dieting have decided to try Atkins and have to say I am loving it. Don't eat meat but love fish and cheese so am in my element . Finding these threads so helpful:)

Thanks, are you finding plenty to eat ? I can't believe how full I feel, so far so good!

Hey slaj... Good to have your diary on here ! It's a great place ... Good luck with your journey. ! X

Hi Slaj, good to see your diary. Welcome and good luck:D

Thanks Kat1e, I have found all the threads inspiring, what a lovely supportive group of people

Bought some some milled flaxmeal today going to try making mims tomorrow, anyone got any tips? X

Welcome to your very own diary Slaj :)

This is the place to ask questions, moan, be happy, record your menus and so on - so don't hold back, we're a lovely lot but quite nosy, and we easily hijack each other's diaries - consider it a badge of honour :D

Good morning all, very excited, just made my first mims, enjoying it sliced, buttered with slices of emmental cheese. Not bad for first attempt! Have a good day everyone :)

Mims are great, and there's loads of variations - but try not to have one every day until you're further along if you can :)

Not had rhubarb in yonks! I could mix it with Splenda! Now there's a thought! Lol x

I love alpacas slaj ... They are so cute lol x

Hi slaj - that sounds good - must add it to next food order:)

Hi Slaj, we did have a member who was a veggie, she's not posted for a while though. See if you can find a thread by girlygirl.

Thanks jim will do, just enjoyed mushrooms, scrambled eggs and 2 quorn bacon rashers fried in olive oil, tea without milk. Hope the quorn bacon is ok, blooming tasty though!
Perhaps I should introduce myself, I am Sandra , 47 year old married with a son who is turning 16 next week( help!) and 13 yr old daughter, living in the Midlands. I am a seasoned dieter who is tired of losing the same 4-5 pounds! Am enjoying the food on Atkins still a bit nervous about high fat food as both parents died of heart attacks in their 60's. Loving the support and friendliness on this site. Thanks everyone, x

Hi Sandra,

I live in the midlands as well, Sutton Coldfield just outside Birmingham. I know how you feel about heart attacks and stuff but my Dr is convinced I'm at less risk than I was before Atkins, mainly because of the vastly improved Blood test results and also because of the weight I've lost.

Morning Sandra and welcome... xx

Lunch mixed salad leaves, celery, Stilton cheese and Mayo,
Dinner quorn grill, cabbage, green beans and mange tout followed by rhubarb and cream, yum yum!
