Where to start? I have lost about 4 stone (14lbs per stone) started off on Atkins lost first stone, then joined weight watchers lost about three stone, went a bit wayward due to carb overload and lack of discipline due to sugar hi and lows, so then put almost a stone back on! Very grumpy n disenchanted i have been back on Atkins and lost that nasty stone so back to my lowest weight on w.w soooo anything from now on is a bonus! I still have a lot to lose and dont expect it to come off quick because i have been dieting for just over a year now (apart from my blip)

I have a friend who is my diet guru, thanks to her i have a new lease of life on Atkins with her intruducing me to some recipes n web sites, thank the lord for oopsie rolls!! I always found breakfasts difficult as i cant live on full English and omelettes plus i dont always want to cook. Things i miss are cornflakes n other cereal, not that i had them often but i find i do crave them sometimes.

Liking what i see on here! Finding it hard to find my way around! But will get there. Any help is greatly appreciated too, always on look out for induction recipes, because i find i have to stay on induction, i cant get to grips with owl and i need to stay rigid with the occasional blip. Or, i quickly come out of ketosis.

Hoping to meet lots of like minded new friends! Not sure how to upload pic but hope to learn soon!

Hi Stubbsey and welcome!

It's a little quiet here at the moment, people on hols and stuff, but please ask as many questions as you like and we'll try and help - people here are great, very friendly :)

One of my fav brekkies is bacon, tomato and avocado - try it, it's lovely :)

hi, thanks for replying, i have been having a good look around and making some notes of good recipes and tips. i have never actually eaten avocado, i did taste it once as a girl at work had one, i don't really know why it escaped me, what do you do with it? x

Cut it in half, scoop out the stone and peel off the skin. then chop into chunks and use in salads - really yummy with bacon.

Also take a good look through the Recipes sticky, and the low carb shopping list :)

Oh thanks for that just wondered if it was raw or cooked with the bacon i will try it when i next shop x

I don't think cooked would work well! It's nice mashed up into guacamole, too.

He he like that! I will deffo have to give it a try, i have had a few days off diet had a birthday party and a wedding so had lots of cake and drink so purged now and back in the zone!

Starting off induction again! I have had a bit of a diet holiday and starting induction from scratch again. I have found it hard to get back on it again. That was the lure of the sweet n sticky delights I'm afraid. I wish i wasoneof those people with a savory tooth but sadly I have always the one for puddings and cakes. So after the birthday party and then wedding the sugarfest got a grip on me and a few cheesecakes later i am dreading my date with the scales! Groan

You're back on the wagon hun and that's the main thing :)

For next time maybe make some chocolate mims to take with you so you have legal food?

i don't know if its the way i made them but i am not keen on the mims my friend loves them so i must have done something wrong

Agree mims take some experimentation - also i prefer them oven cooked vs microwave which improves texture

I think I'm going to try making one tonight. Haven't had them since the last time I did Atkins when I wasn't crazy about them fresh from the microwave but found they take on a much nicer flavor toasted.

I have not seen recipe or rather instructions fordoing themin the oven, i tried putting cocoa and orange essencei in them but they just seem to have a balley type texture which after a few bites i cant take anymore, shame coz i do crave cakey type things.

its a lazy sunday, well I am lazy anyway, husband is cutting the grass and being his usual hyeractive self (he is one of those annoying hyper thin people!) so i thought i would browse through some atkins induction friendly recipes and look for some pointers here and there. Sad day today, my sons pet Amaury the axolotl had to be put down today, he was a cute and fun little guy, but he got kidney failure and was suffering so the vet called today and will be doing the deed today... what would normally make me reach for some comfort food (and i did make mini cupcakes for everyone yesterday so i could!) is actually making me look into making something satisfying but good on induction! so maybe I am turning a corner here!

i am also searching for inspiration to make an indian type korma or passanda and to do some saag gobi (i think gobi is cauliflower) as i do love saag aloo and cant have aloo... all ok on induction of course, so if anyone knows a good recipe i would appreciate that!

Son is happy because Arsenal are now 2 nil up so at least that is something to cheer him up!

I had to google an axoloti! lol they look really cute and almost extinct!! wow!

yes he was a cute little smiley faced chap, he used to come up to the side of the tank and look at us stand on his back legs he took his food out of Pauls hands too, really lovely little pet, miss him lots. i think Paul will get another one at some point as he loves them.

Hi stubsey - think all pets capture a piece of our hearts whatever rational brain says! Delighted to be home to my 2 baby boys (cats now 10 yrs old!) after 4 weeks away!

KETOTIS BACK....... GET IN...........

Hi Katie, I am a bit of a Cat Lady too I have three now, all neurotic and not one of them likes being picked up and cuddled they just allow me to stroke them and feed them, its true dogs have owners cats have staff!!

I am sooooo glad that my keto strip was a lovely shade of purple today, I have tried really hard to get back to basics and thank goodness its finally worked. I have started to use the myfitnesspal app and site and think its great, when i track my food, i end up with a minus figure in the fat column, should i be changing something in the settings or is just ok to ignore that? i was pretty impressed because of the foods that are pre loaded in, the only thing i missed about the weight watchers app was the planner.

had left over roast pork for dinner and veggies, and have some pork scratchings for later... feeling so much more positive and back in the zone!
