The thought of eating more meat :-(

Hi all, I am not doing Atkins, but am on the Harcombe diet (very quiet forum).

just wondered if any of you get sick of the thought of eating yet more meat? I have been making all sorts of meals with different meat, fish, veg and salad but sometimes I'd rather not eat anything as the thought of it just turns my stomach. Had a carb day today and enjoyed a nice leek and potato soup instead.

Honestly, I am no stranger to cooking and have had all sorts of meals, but some days I just feel like becoming vegetarian.

The thing i love most on atkins is how much veggie i eat - basically when we started i couldnt believe how much veg we had to buy and generally its 2/3 rds of my plate. We basically swapped pasta/pots for veg. Eg we now have cab bol instead of spag bol! I must admit i'm still enjoying the meat part too!

Anyway, if meat is too much, look at some of the phase 2 foods (nuts etc) and see if that suits you better

Look up some yummy egg and cheese recipes. You'll be amazed at how many there are! Try a few quorn recipes. Atkins is a great way to eat and live but those old carb cravings will always be with us to some extent.

Thanks for the replies. I have been ok this week, and have enjoyed salad for breakfast :). I had a couple of carb meals and the fish man was in the nearest small town, so I have enjoyed lots of fresh salmon this week.

I did have eggs for breakfast a couple of times, I never fancy them, but enjoy them when I have them. I am the same with the veg, I pile it on. Meat and veg chilli is lovely (overload on onion as I love them) with a big dollop of sour cream and I'm not missing the rice :)

I have not eaten quorn since leaving the UK, I think it would be impossible to buy here, Estonians do not understand vegetarians ;). Glad I'm allowed some good healthy carb meals, I think I was worried about it affecting the weight loss, but obviously not, I am very happy with my alb this week.

Thanks again xx
