Counting Calories and 5:2

Hi All,

I'm Em and very new to this. I am 24 and 14stone, my aim is to loose around 4 stone (although I may reassess if I get there).

I am counting calories (1700) a day and two fast days (500) a week. My first fast was today and it was a big success.

I drunk 2 black coffees and 2lts of water throughout the day until dinner time and I had a salmon fillet in a soy glaze with mixed stir fry vegetables (378) and finished with a packet of sweet and salty popcorn and salted caramel hot chocolate (117). So my first fast was 499 ?.

Feel free to join in, I will update as regularly as possible!
 
It's when you put a number 8 next to a ) it comes out as a sunglasses smiley! And when it's a smiley it doesn't recognise it comes out as a question mark!

Hello everyone!

So my first fast was great and I felt really good.

Yesterday wasn't so good though as I was taken out for dinner with work but I did eat a lot less than I would have normally. Nothing to get in my way now though.

Today is another fast day so I have had two boiling waters with lemon and 750ml of water so far. The aim is to eat nothing until a banana at around 4o'clock as I am going swimming this evening, Then a dinner of fish and veggies. I will update later.
 
Yesterday went as planned. I had a banana before swimming then a dinner of lemon sole and salad. I had enough calories left for a few slices of ham and a couple of gherkins and finished on 446 calories!

Thats really good well done on your fast days especially when swimming that makes me soo hungry ha ha !
 
Today was a bad day. Although I stuck close to my 2000 calorie allowance it was the wrong things. Tomorrow needs to include a lot of fruit, veg and water to make up for it!

Breakfast
2 eggs, 2 slices of ham and some beans (352kcal)

Lunch
Jacket potato with ham and cheese (575kcal)

Snack
A packet of sweet and salty popcorn and a small skinny latte (157kcal)

Dinner
3 slices of Pizza Hut BBQ meat pizza and a slice of garlic bread (989)

Total 2073/2060

A day of totally the wrong things to eat but I had a lovely chilled day off work, walked 3 miles with the dog and had my hair cut :)
 
You still stayed close to your limit though, which shows thought as to the amount you had which is a good thing :) it'd be boring if all we ate was salads so a little bit of what you shouldn't won't do any harm. As my granny used to say, everything in moderation! Xx

Hey, welcome to my page :) thank you for your messages

I managed to Palm the rest of my pizza off to my other half, all but two slices which I had for lunch (a lot less then I normally would)

Today's food was as follows

Breakfast
2 eggs scrambled with semi skimmed milk and 2 slices of ham (must stop buying ham as I can't stop eating it) - 249kcal

Lunch
2 slices of left over pizza - 526kcal

Dinner
Red pepper, cucumber, olives, tomatoes, smoked salmon, king prawns and a dollop of low fat pineapple cottage cheese - 445kcal

With a couple of coffees throughout the day I'm currently at a total of 1280.

The boyfriend is out for dinner hence the picky food so I might treat myself to some jelly for desert and relax in the bath with a hot chocolate. I hope everyone else has a good day :) x
 
I must make sure I come on here more lol.

I had a lovely weekend, stuck to my calories apart from I didn't count last night as I made a roast for the family :) I also made a coffee and almond cake for desert which was amazing!!

Fast day today and I had nothing but two black coffees and lots of water! I found it surprisingly easy even though I had to sit in subway and watch a colleague eat a footlong!

I had a dinner of a three egg omelette with a small potato, cheese, onion and sweet corn and a tbsp of chilli sauce all for 514 calories - I'll have that!

Today was a normal day for me (fasting Monday and Thursday this week).

Breakfast
2 eggs scrambled with semi skimmed milk (173kcal)
Two cups of coffee with milk (40kcal)

Lunch
Sainsbury's smoked salmon trimmings and a Greek salad (408)

Dinner
Pork steak with udon noodles, spinach and mushroom in a lemon sauce. A small ambrosia rice pudding for desert (824)

1445/2000

Slightly under today but I'm off out for dinner tomorrow so it should limit the damage ?
 
So yesterday was another normal day for me (switched days as I went out for dinner)

Breakfast
Medium skinny latte from Costa (109 kcal)

Lunch
Carrot sticks and a butternut squash risotto meal soup (313 kcal)

Snacks
4x coffee with milk and some water melon (76 kcal)

Dinner
Harvester - half a spit roast chicken, rice, salad bowl and chilli, ginger and spring onion sauce with a cake pops desert (1788 kcal)

I needed those calories yesterday, they were well worth it too! I love the harvester and I had so much less then I would used to.

Today was a fast day and I have been feeling rough.

I had half a ten of baked beans for lunch as I was starting to lag at work lol

Dinner was a tin of leek and potato soup with some sugar snap peas and a hot chocolate taking me to a total of 438/500
 
Mmmm I love harvester! Haven't been for ages. I like how they put the calories on their menu too :)

All of your food sounds lovely.
 
Thank you, I finally got round to finding your diary. Your doing great, keep it up!

Note to self: must drink more water! (I'm so bad at it, I sometimes can go a whole day 'forgetting' to drink. If only I could do that with food lol)
