Ok. So I've been on this site before and tried exante but that was soo difficult. I will openly admit that I'm addicted to food so cutting it out completely was too hard!

After being lectured by a mate on the 'science' of losing weight, I have to agree that calorie counting is the most sensible option that will work long term. So here I go. Calorie counting it is!

I've put myself on 1200 calories a day and have allowed myself a treat once a week. I don't drink alcohol very often so my biggest battle is going to be portion size and not binge eating on crap!

Wish me luck people ;-)

I'm the same... 4 (maybe a little more) stone to shift. Love my food... Use it for comfort. I'm also tired thanks to my 16 month old being a really bad sleeper.., when I'm tired I turn to carbs!!! I also am studying towards a degree and like to have study snacks! So need to find healthy alternatives.

Good luck! I've got about the same to lose. :)

Snacking is my downfall, but I know from last time when I'm focused calorie counting really does work. You can do it!

With 4 stone to lose you need to start your calories at around 1600 a day. Starting at 1200 gives you nowhere to go really as your weight reduces and starts to plateau

Give that a go, keep n eye on your carbs and you'll see good results

Hi Greta,

Iv got around 4 stone to lose and aim to have between 1100-1200 cals. If I was to up this wouldn't I gain weight ?

No.

If you start on 1200 calories with 4 stone to lose, you'll eventually plateau and stop losing . You don't have a lot of adjustment room on 1200 cals a day

I'd recommend you start on 1500 for the first few stone. Watch your carb intake and you'll see a good loss

My myfitnesspal puts me at 1460 calories a day
