Hi everyone, I'm new to calorie counting. I used to do slimming world, lost just under 2st but have now regained. I been struggling with it so have decided to do cc. Does everyone use mfp on its own or do they use books too?

Do you gradually reduce your calories when you get to a certain point e.g lose a stone?

I think I have 1690. Is TDEE the amount of calories you need?

Hmmm id say start higher x maybe if you aim for 1.5lb per week it will give u more calories to play with x

Yes, I personally ignore the calories MFP gives me and just set my own - I think 1,200 is too low, certainly if you have more than a few pounds to lose. Definitely start higher and reduce it gradually. I started on at least 1,800, but I did have over 10 stone to lose. If you work out your BMR and eat at least that amount, you should be ok. :) xx

My BF has lost 8 stone using MFP and she said that when she stays the same for a couple of weeks she knows it is time to drop her calories and this is what she has done and managed to keep losing weight.

Brilliant. Thanks for that :)

TDEE is the total calories you use. I work out my TDEE and minus 20% and thats what I aim for daily.

I've also quit sugar and refined carbs. It's work wonders for my motivation. Good luck. Xxx
