Should I be worried?

Hi everyone.

I've recently started the CWP and I've heard a few horror stories about gallstones and gallbladder removal due to a vlcd and rapid weight loss.

I'm a guy and have about 9 stone to lose in total (started at 24stone 5pounds). I've already lost 22 pounds in my first 2 weeks on the diet which I'm thrilled with but I don't want to have any problems with my galbladder. I'm sticking to ss 100% (4 products plus 1 pint of skimmed milk a day) and I'm really enjoying it, not finding it too difficult and I can see the results already. I also drink at least 4 litres of water a day in addition to the water I have with my products.

Obviously the risk of gallbladder removal is nothing compared to the risk of health problems from being overweight.

Is there any way to help prevent them whilst on sole source?

I've never had any problems with gallstones in the past so am I worrying for no reason?

Thanks

Welcome aboard Jerbs.

Honestly never heard of the problems - best talk to CDC about it; I'll ask mine when I next see him.

i've heard of these issues, but they arent common. I'm hazarding a guess that you have more chance of being injured in a car accident on the daily commute....

Unfortunately gallstones are a possibly side affect to any weight loss regardless how it's achieved and regardless of the diet chosen x

Hi Jerbs, Even though the registration tick list didn't say I needed to consult my GP before starting, I did consult her. I took her through the plan and asked if she had any concerns. I was seeing her anyway, didn't make a special appointment. She has asked to see me again at intervals and recently she ran full blood tests as she wanted to be sure my body was coping ok (plus, I have had a bit of water retention and she was checking that out). Could you consult your GP for an assessment of the risks as pertain to you individually? I'm very lucky because I have an excellent doctor and practice. Hope you're getting on ok.
