Lightbulb moment!!! Back on CD

Hey all!!

I will apologise in advance if my posts are pretty long-winded.... I find minimins very theraputic!

So I did Cambridge almost 4 years ago, after the birth of my first son. I lost around 4 st in 9 weeks and felt amazing!! I still had a good 2-3 st to loose, but lost motivation and although I didn't gain initially, i have now put it back on plus another stone and a half too!!! So I'm around 20.7 stone, gaining a whole 2 stone before I fell pregnant with my second son and a further 3 after.

I've had a pretty crazy stressful
Year. I own a Childcare business and last year expanded from preschool
To day nursery. I was also diagnosed with PND after having my second son.

To put it bluntly, I feel disgusting... I'm wearing size 22 clothes (trousers are beginning to feel tight) and I'm constantly uncomfortable. I have seriously contemplated weight loss surgery as I couldn't seem to get into the mindset. I had an appointment but had to reschedule the first time due to being unwell.. I then had to put it back again due to a death in the family, and I had my third consultation booked for today... Or so I thought. I went to the clinic today, and turns out I was a day late for my appointment. I was pretty devastated by this.. Crying like a baby on the phone to my hubby in the car park. He gave me some stern words and after getting off the phone and sat in my car thinking and smoking far too many cigarettes, I had a lightbulb moment... I don't need surgery... Well I don't need surgery to get started (still open to suggestion) but I do need motivation.. And magically it seemed to all come back to me.. So without even thinking, I phoned the local CDC and have booked to meet her on Friday, and will start CD again on Saturday... No time to waste!!!!!!!

I hope to get chatting to people on here to share experiences and mutual
Support. I hear second time is harder, but fingers crossed I can do this!!!

Good luck to you all on your weight loss journeys!!

Anna. Xxx

Hi :) sounds like you weren't meant to have the surgery, think something was trying to tell you haha.
i've done this diet 3 times but never really stuck it out and got bored quickly. This is my 4th time doing it and have found it the easiest.
best of luck with your journey :) x

Thank you! Yeah looks that way :D I have another appointment booked in about 3 weeks time, but I'm thinking I will be open minded and see how I'm getting on before making my decision to take it further.
How long have you been on CD this time?

Will that be your first weigh in? :) yeah it's so much easier taking it day by day rather than thinking about how long you're are going to be on it, just see how you feel then :)
this is day 17 for me :)

Good luck both of you. I'm on the last day of week 10 and can honestly say its flown by. Just get through the first week and you'll be fine. The weigh ins each week will keep you going. Just keep on here and reading posts plus ask If you have any questions. X

Oh you mean you've got a appointment for the surgery, even if you do go with the surgery at least this is a good start to your weightloss :)

Hi Liz, thank you :) you've done amazing in your losses!

Yeah I've kept my new appointment. It's only a consultation, so it won't hurt to find out all the ins and outs of it.. I hate the idea of surgery, so if I can manage to go without I will certainly try!! Had a bit of a hold up. I was supposed to pick up my packs on Friday, but thanks to my boys and their excellent sharing I picked up their sickness bug instead!!! But I rescheduled my appointment and went today instead so I'm all set for starting in the morning. I've got my water in the fridge, my shaker and my packs in my bag for work and away I go... Cambridge the sequel... Four years on.. Not going to lie, I'm nervous as to what the next few days will bring!!!! :-0 xx

Hi everyone, I'm back on here after a break of a few years, same old story, tried everything going, nothing seems to work long term. Truth is I'm now officially the heaviest I've ever been, I'm only 5'3 1/2 so every extra lb shows. Decided to take drastic action and seeing my local C.D. consultant later this morning. Have been on the diet previously and did well but worried about getting back into it. My other half is not terrifically supportive, doesn't know why I'm so unhappy with myself so that's not helping matters. Hope to really get into it and reap the benefits. Could do with some support along the way, so feel free!! Good luck to you all on your journey. X

Hiya, Im starting today too. I tried this a couple of years ago for a week and was so hungry I wanted to throttle anyone that came near me but Im almost at my heaviest weight and I really need to do something about it. Ive just had my first product of the day and Im not feeling too bad, but Im sure once Weds/Thurs comes it will be torture. I think its just a case of getting through the first week.
Fingers crossed we all do well on this this time around.

Yes, me too. Have seen my consultant this morning and stocked up for the week. Feeling positive at the moment but I know the next few days will be tough. Be nice to have someone who understands how you feel to chat to. Good luck, I wish you well. Anne. X

I definitely agree Anne, its nice to have the support of others who are going through the same thing as you at the same time, and I find these forums a real help, even if you are just chatting away to yourself, and I think it will be great to look back at these once we are down to our goal weight and remember how we used to be.

Good luck with this week everyone, lets keep each other updated, as the first week is going to be the toughest! :)
Vicky xx

Good luck ladies, I'm now starting week 9!! It's gone so fast and I've had the odd slip up, it is hard the first week and it's also a habit to break but it's so worth it xx

How much have you lost? I really can't wait to get to week 9!!!

First day done. It was tough at times, but starting on step 2 has been a great help- knowing I have a solid meal at the end of the day. My bmi is 45 so I can't go straight onto sole source. Last time I was able to, so it seemed easier knowing I can eat at the end of the day.. Had a chicken fillet with balsamic vinegar and a baked portobello mushroom with spinach and pepper.. Really yummy!!
When my bmi is down to 40, I intend to go onto ss again.

Good luck ladies with week 1. Xx

26lbs as had a few dodgy weeks lol x

Wow, well done!! I think most people have slip ups. I know the first week in May is going to be a nightmare as my parents are over, so my dad will be wanting to go out to eat every night!! I'll
Just have to be really strong :-/

I've also got the odd night out here and there.. Over the next few months... Some I can wriggle out of, but you still have to live!?!

Yeah defo, if ur good til then, I would go out and have chicken salad etc coke zero!!! Soil yourself lol xx

Wow, you've done sooo well, congratulations, I hope your feeling uber proud. The only thing I'm worried about is a family wedding in 3 weeks time, we're travelling to it and staying over for a couple of nights (in a pub, can this get any better?).
It sounds like it's turning into a eat n drink fest, hope that I can stay strong. It's not the worry of a couple of days of overindulgence that's the worry, it's knowing that I'll have to do the dreaded 3 or so days to get back into the diet!!
Anyway, it's day 2, complete red a night shift and didn't come home and eat the dog so all good. Feeling positive.
How you all getting on? X

Yeah all good just about to walk the dawg, at home as my daughter poorly so had to take day off work and make hrs up arghhh!!

I'm doing ss this week trying to get into the 11's gonna b tough as in the past if I needed food I would have an omelette.

Well when u go away b good the first night eat at the wedding then good the next day so your only having one day off???

Oh and yes got my jeans on woop woop!!!

Vanessa x
