Hi guys,

I'm new on here, but not new to VLCD's. I was doing Lighter Life on and off for about a year and a half, then I tried to go onto Exante, but my head wasn't in it.

I've started Exante again and I'm trying to do it properly this time. I've been on it since Monday and the food cravings have started to die down, although I'm still dreaming about eating! How cruel is that! My own subconscious is not even helping me out ) I've been trying to take enough water and I'm seeing the weight start to shift which is good. I just need to keep focused. Why does the first week always seem like the longest!

At my weigh in on Monday I was still down 2 stone 1lb since starting Lighter Life, so at least I managed to stop myself from putting back on all of the weight. I had achieved 5 stone but I'm trying to just focus on a new start.

I have a few events coming up where there will be food an Alcohol. I had intended to eat at them and then get back on track, but now that I'm into ketosis I think the sensible head is kicking in again. If I eat and drink at the events I'll go massively off the rails afterwards! So I think I'm going to eat (only protein and veg) and take the car so I don't drink. That will keep me in line with the working plan, then get back onto Total the next day.

My main goal is to get down to a healthy size. I don't have any illusion that I'll be skinny. I just want to be nearer a healthy BMI. The main visual goal for me is fitting into nice outfits for Glastonbury!!! It's not until the end of June so I could be down 3-4 stone by then on the plan. So I just need to stick with it.

I'm looking forward to chatting to some people on here to get some inspiration and motivation to keep going!)

Thanks
Lesley

Well, first week weigh in and I'm 11lbs down :D Woohoo! I'm really pleased with that start. Hopefully the second week will pass a little quicker and add another 3lbs to take me to a stone!

Well done Lesley thatsa fantastic loss you must be thrilled!! Close to a stone loss already!! Love your attitude too, You're doing really well :D xx

Thanks ExanteDreamer! I am thrilled. I'm starting to feel like I can see a difference which is great! I'm feeling more motivated than I have done in a long time, so I'm just trying to keep a hold of that as long as possible! :)

Well, week two definitely went quicker than the first week :) Another 4lbs down taking me to a stone in two weeks and back to being three stone down from my original heaviest weight!! Yay!!

This next week will be slightly tough. I have a big burns supper where I'm currently planning to take the car so I don't drink, but I'm already getting hassle from friends about it. They seem to have the willpower to come off a diet for a night and get back on it, but I don't. So I know that I need to do what's right for me and stick with my plan. If I explain what I really want I'm sure they will be supportive, but I'm easily persuaded to fall off the wagon...

Week three went quite quickly, but unfortunately I lapsed at the weekend, so it's good to be down a pound, but I would have preferred more. I did make a choice to eat and drink, so I knew what would happen and I'm trying not to be too tough on myself, but I'm trying really hard not to let it send me on a downward trend. Being able to keep trying and keep getting back on track is the skill I'm going to need long term to manage my weight. So I'm so far glad that I'm getting straight back into it and not letting myself eat anything just because I'm off plan. I'm glad that my food choices were all reasonable. I also tried to pick alcohol which is lower in calorie, so that it would not be too sugary and sweet. I know it's put me out of Ketosis, but I know I'll be back in it soon. I've also felt a bit hungry today, but not as hungry and I expected. However I'm off to bed now before I start to feel more hungry again ;)

Week four went much better. I'm down 4 lbs and I feel I can really start to see a difference. I'm feeling really motivated which is great and I'm doing exercise which I've not really done in ages!! I was at the gym this morning getting a programme made up, so I'm keen to try it out and see how I get on. The guy at the gym has never come across someone doing a VLCD before, so I think I've turned into a bit of an experiment for him. He's intrigued to see how I get on :)

Every now and again I try on some of my nice dresses and it's great to see them fitting better and better!! I'm looking forward to feeling good in them again.

xx

Sounds as if you are really focused. You are doing great! Congrats on your losses so far.

I've not had a great couple of weeks. I've had a terrible cold and I ended up being off work for a full week, which is really not like me. So I've put some weight on, but now that I'm feeling better I'm keen to get back on track and get back to the plan. I'm really hoping to get it back under control this week and start shifting some of the weight again.
